1 dead, 2 injured in Philadelphia explosion that damaged several homes

Philadelphia – One person died and two others were injured after an explosion damaged several houses on the north side of Philadelphia early on Sunday, the authorities.
The firefighters responded to an explosion report just before 5 a.m., according to the Philadelphia fire service.
Daniel McCarty, the executive director of the department, said that there had been significant damage to around five houses, including collapsed structures. One person died and two other people who were saved were hospitalized. McCarty said that one had been pointed out stable while the other was in critical condition.
The crews had to continue research and rescue operations.
“The most important thing is the stability of the surrounding houses, making sure that this danger is not spreading,” said McCarty. “It will be a vast operation all day long for the Philadelphia fire service.”
The authorities had not determined the cause of the explosion.
