While the eyes of the nation were on the royal family as they led the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph, Kate Middleton undoubtedly took special care in choosing her jewelry for the occasion.

As well as Princess Diana’s diamond and pearl earrings and a brooch paying tribute to both her work with the RAF and her late grandfather, the Princess of Wales chose to present a stack of rings on her wedding finger.

Kate paired her famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring with three other thin rings, wearing all four on one finger for the first time to create a statement stack. An eternity ring, a new addition to the princess’s jewelry box since last year, is adorned with diamonds and sapphires and is believed to be the wedding ring from Étincelle de Cartier. Many have speculated that the ring could have been a gift from Prince William to mark the end of Kate’s preventative chemotherapy treatment — and sure enough, it coordinates perfectly with her engagement ring.

The third ring is an older piece: a sparkling diamond-encrusted style, it comes from Annoushka, one of Kate’s favorite jewelers, and was reportedly a gift from William after the birth of Prince George in 2013. The fourth and final ring adorning the princess’s finger was, of course, her wedding ring, made from the same Welsh gold nugget used for Queen Elizabeth’s wedding ring.
