Frankenstein

Guillermo del Toro is back on Netflix with another stunning reimagining of a classic story. Frankensteindel Toro’s retelling of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, has a horror impact with its cinematography. The gothic sci-fi film tells the story of Victor Frankenstein (Moon Knight Oscar Isaac), a disgraced scientist who reanimates a monstrous creature (played by Euphoria Jacob Elordi) to life in a daring experiment and the consequences of this action.

Frankenstein made its world premiere in the main competition of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in August this year. It began a limited theatrical release on October 17 and will be available for global streaming on Netflix on November 7. The film also stars The Inglourious Basterds Christoph Waltz as Harlander and Pearl Mia Goth as Elizabeth Lavenza.

In your dreamsproduced by Netflix Animation and Kuku Studios, is an animated fantasy adventure that will be an enjoyable evening for your family. It tells the story of Stevie and his younger brother, Elliot, as they deal with their parents’ separation. The siblings travel to the magical world of dreams and search for the Sandman, discovering relics of their past along the way. But first, they must overcome Nightmara and her obstacles, after which they can ask the Sandman to fulfill their wish of saving their parents’ marriage.

Form dreams

Based on the 2011 short story by Denis Johnson, Form dreams talks about the lumberjack and railway worker Robert Grainier (of the warrior Joel Edgerton), whose job was to build the nation’s expanding railroad empire during the 20th century. This takes him far from home and his wife, Gladys (The theory of everything Felicity Jones) and their daughter. The film shows the passage of time as Robert discovers the meaning of loss and love, while struggling with his role in his changing world.

The film made its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in January and has already received nominations for Best Feature Film and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2025 Gotham Film Awards.

One foreign film that should be on your Netflix radar is Left-handed girla Taiwanese coming-of-age story and Shih-Ching Tsou’s first solo film. It is also Taiwan’s official entry for the 98th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film and will be released theatrically on November 14 before being available to stream on Netflix at the end of the month.

Left-handed girl The story of a single mother, Shu-Fen, and her two daughters, who return to Taipei after years in the countryside to open a noodle stall in a bustling night market. New wave takes you on a thrilling black-and-white journey through 1959 Paris. The French-English comedy-drama follows young Jean-Luc Godard and his motley crew as they take part in the filming of Pantingone of the first feature films of the New Wave era of French cinema.

New wave made its world premiere in the main competition of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in May this year. It was released theatrically in France and the United States in October.
