10 things to note about the Dodgers’ 2026 schedule

For the first time since 2023, the Dodgers will not be the first team to open the Major League baseball season next year.
Because, for the first time in three seasons, the team does not start their schedule a week earlier with a trip abroad.
While some of their players are traveling around the world in early March, during the World Baseball 2026 classic, Dodgers will have a relatively normal travel calendar in team next season – unlike the last two years when they have opened in Tokyo and Seoul.
As MLB announced on Tuesday with the level of the 2026 calendar league level, the first Dodgers match will be the traditional opening day of the MLB: a competition of Thursday March 26 against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.
And after that, the rest of their 162 game calendar will take place on a continent.
Here are some protruding points of MLB’s announcement on Tuesday:
Opening weekend: Diamondbacks will visit the Dodger Stadium for three games from March 26 to 28 to start the season. It marks the fourth consecutive year that Dodgers are playing at home during the opening weekend.
First trip on the road: The Dodgers do not leave North America this year, but they will leave the country during their first trip. After visiting the Washington Nationals from April 3 to 5, they go to Toronto to face the Blue Jays from April 6 to 8.
Jackie Robinson Day: As usual, the Dodgers will be at home to celebrate the Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, with the New York dishes as an opponent in the last set of three games.
First Giant series: The Dodgers and Giants will renew their rivalry for the first time on April 21 to 23 with a series of three games in San Francisco. The giants will make a return trip to Los Angeles for four games from May 11 to 14.
Highway series: The angels swept away the six games they played against the Dodgers this year. The Dodgers will try to return the favor on two series next year, with three games at the Angel Stadium from May 15 to 17 (during the “rivalry weekend” of the MLB) and three others at the Dodger Stadium from June 5 to 7.
First Padres Series: Dodgers and Padres will not have to wait as long as they did this year for their first rivalry meeting, the Dodgers should go to San Diego from May 18 to 20.
Punch the road (including Sacramento): Dodgers’ trips will remain relatively balanced until June. From June 1 to July 1, the team will play 19 of the 28 games on the road, including trips to Arizona; Pittsburgh and Chicago; And Minnesota, San Diego and – For the first time – Sacramento to face athletics moving in their temporary minor league stadium.
Padres on independence day: It will take a while before the Padres visit Los Angeles. The teams play again in San Diego from June 26 to 28, before the Padres finally visited Chavez Ravine for a set of four games-during the holiday weekend on July 4, no less (July 2-5).
Northeast corridor: Some Dodgers players could familiarize themselves with a trip from Philadelphia-New York next summer. After the team finished the first half of the season with a Homestand from Padres-Rockies-Diamondbacks, attention will go to the star match in Philadelphia (where the MLB will celebrate the 250th anniversary of America). Then the Dodgers opened their second half with a trip to New York against the Yankees, three games in Philadelphia against the Phillies, then another match in New York against the food.
Fight until arrival: The calendars seem to enhance another race in the national league division close to next year. Because during the last 10 days of the season, the Dodgers play three home games against the Giants (September 18-20), three other at home against the Padres (September 22-24), then ended the year with a three game set in San Francisco (September 25-27).
