100 Gaza children hope to be evacuated to UK for urgent medical care | Gaza

More than 100 seriously ill and injured children in Gaza hope to come to the United Kingdom as soon as the government has announced a program aimed at providing those who have a severe need with NHS care.
The government announced on Sunday that it would evacuate children from Gaza to the United Kingdom for treatment as part of a program that will be announced in a few weeks.
While the activists welcomed the announcement, they urged ministers to move quickly, saying that children awaiting urgent medical care in the United Kingdom died or forced to be medically evacuated to other countries.
“We have previously had children on the list, but because the approval takes so long, some of these children have ended up dying,” said Omar Din, co-founder of Project Pure Hope (PPH) and director of primary health care of the NHS. “The government must move to the pace.”
Thanks to a private program, the charity brought three children to the United Kingdom this year. Now, his efforts will provide a plan for the new regime funded by taxpayers, which will work in parallel.
“It is not too late in the sense that there are people who can still be helped, there are many children,” said Din. But he added: “We should have done as much earlier.”
The United Kingdom’s decision to offer itself as a receiving state comes when the famine and famine of the aid blockade in Israel settles in Gaza, where more than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that 12,500 patients in Gaza need medical evacuation, and humanitarian organizations have called more countries to help.
Last month, a charitable organization launched legal action against the government’s decision not to provide medical evacuations against the previous history, and the ministers faced increased pressure of more than 100 deputies to act.
C charitable organizations hope that around 100 children on their existing lists will be authorized to come in the United Kingdom, as well as a tutor and possibly brothers and sisters. PPH told government that it counted between 30 and 50 children who should come to the United Kingdom, and caritative children and not figures (CNN) have 60 children who have a critical need for medical evacuation from Gaza.
C charitable organizations said there were many people – working in health care and other sectors – who were ready to give their time and money to help. “We have a flourishing private health system in addition to our NHS system, and combined with the government behind them, I think the services can be widened to support a greater number of children,” said Din.
By looking for counterparts in Europe and the United States, and in the neighboring countries of Egypt, Qatar and Water, which had evacuated more than 7,000 patients in April, according to WHO, DIN said that the British government should help children “compared to our counterparts”.
A child that the charity helped have burns to the fourth degree to 40% of his body. However, discussions with the government on the bringing the child to the United Kingdom have evolved too slowly, said the charity, and the child ended up being taken to Italy in June, with a one-year-old boy with a congenital illness. The charity has also helped medical evacuations to water and Jordan.
“We have now developed a plan, we have all the resources [and] learning. The whole way is there now so that you take and use all the strength of the government to evolve [up] urgent, ”said Din.

Last month, CNN brought legal action against the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their decision not to propose medical evacuations. Welcome to the government’s announcement, a spokesman said that 71 children they helped have died due to treatment, medicine and delay on medical evacuations because they called the Prime Minister for the first time to examine such a program in November of last year.
“It’s absolutely discouraging,” said a spokesperson for CNN. “We had to wait about 10 months for this to happen.”
The charitable organization said that the 60 children he had in a critical evacuation need had their documents and the medical records ready for the final examination of the Israeli coordinator of government activities in the territories (COGAT). Doctors Without Borders previously called on the Israeli government to allow more patients to leave Gaza and be more flexible, saying that cases were confronted with many cogat refusals.
“We are ready to go as long as we have the green light from the government,” said CNN spokesperson.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that a cross-country working group had been created to bring the new program together as quickly as possible.
“We make plans to evacuate more Gaza children who need urgent medical care, in particular by bringing them to the United Kingdom for a specialized treatment where it is the best option for their care,” they said.
