A 109-year-old Baltimore Orioles superfan threw out the team’s first pitch for Opening Day on Thursday.

Arthur Green, a veteran who served in two wars, has witnessed all of the O’s modern history — since the team was moved from St. Louis to Baltimore in 1954, according to MLB.com. Green was in his thirties at the time and had already served time in both wars.

This wasn’t Green’s first time on the mound. He threw a pitch in August 2023, when he was 106 years old. At the time, Green’s daughter, Myra, told WMAR 2 News Baltimore that it was “the best day of her life.”

In December, Green was named the Orioles’ 2026 Mo Gaba Fan of the Year — a fan who becomes the team’s unofficial “10th man” during each season’s home opener, MLB.com reported.

The Orioles won the season opener – perhaps thanks to Green’s pitching – 2-1 over the Minnesota Twins.
