Tesla is almost ready to start selling its electric vehicles in India, according to Bloomberg News, after years of flirting with the idea. The company is about to open its first exhibition hall in Mumbai and could start deliveries in August, according to the report.

A few hours after Bloomberg published its report, Tesla created an account specifically for its Indian operation on the social media platform of the CEO Elon Musk X. The account has so far an article: an illustration of the Mumbai horizon with the legend “to come”.

Tesla has pushed into a number of new markets because it exhausts existing ones with a range of aging electric vehicles. Earlier this year, the company began to sell electric vehicles in the Nation rich in Saudi Arabia.

India could be particularly difficult for a number of reasons, including the price. Tesla will have to export vehicles already built to the country, and they will therefore be subject to an import right of 70%, according to Reuters. Tesla has once had talks with representatives of the Indian government and has to conclude an agreement to build a factory there. But the company has never concluded the agreement.
