13-year-old found shot dead in Humble: Harris County Sheriff’s Office

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy that occurred around 2 p.m. Sunday in Humble.

HCSO said deputies went to an apartment complex at 9310 North Sam Houston Parkway E, near Wilson Road, after receiving a call from a woman saying a young boy had been shot.

When they arrived at the complex, one of the officers found the victim with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Authorities say the woman who called 911 told them she was in her bedroom when she allegedly heard a gunshot.

The woman, who authorities say is the victim’s aunt, left her room and found him on the floor.

HCSO said detectives spoke with two young boys who were with the victim inside the apartment, who had left the complex and returned by the time the sheriff’s office arrived.

Officials told ABC13 it was unclear whether the shooting was intentional, accidental or negligent.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the crime scene investigation unit and homicide detectives were working the case.
