New Yorkers vote in the mayor’s primary as the polls show that Mamdami directed Cuomo

New Yorkers go to the polls on Tuesday during a primary election which is both likely to decide on the next mayor of the city and to have major political implications for the future of the Democratic Party.
The race opposes two democrats radically different against each other. Zohran Mamdani, a 33 -year -old democratic socialist approved by the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, is the main challenger of Andrew Cuomo, the former New York governor who was supported by party centrists and billionaire donors.
Cuomo, who resigned from his post as governor in 2021 after more than a dozen women accused him of sexual harassment, was the clear precursor earlier in the year. But Mamdani has experienced a meteoric increase in polls in recent weeks and could benefit from the primary choice voting system.
Voters can classify five candidates in order of preference, and a survey published Monday has shown that Mamdani winning the primary after several counting cycles. Last week, Mamdani announced that he was “crossed” with Brad Lander, another progressive who was recently arrested by ICE agents when he visited an immigration court.
The United States Supreme Court allows Trump officials to expel migrants to countries other than their
Hello and welcome to the blog live from American policy. My name is Tom Ambrose and I will bring you the latest news of news in the coming hours.
We start with news that The United States Supreme Court has paved the way for the Trump administration to resume the deportation of migrants to the countries of which they are notEspecially in places led such as South Sudan.
In a brief unsigned order, the conservative super-majority of the Court interrupted the decision by a federal judge based in Boston who declared that immigrants deserved a “significant opportunity” to bring allegations according to which they would be risky at the risk of torture, persecution or even death if they were transferred in certain countries who have agreed to take deported people.
Following the decision on Monday, the administration will now be authorized to quickly expel immigrants to “third countries”, including a group of men organized in an American military base in Djibouti that the administration tried to send to South Sudan.
The court did not propose any explanation of its decision and ordered that the judge’s decision did not stop while the appeal process takes place. The three liberal judges issued a scathing dissent.
The Ministry of Internal Security praised the decision to “victory for the security and security of the American people”.
“The DHS can now execute its legal authority and withdraw illegal foreigners from a country willing to accept them,” spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “Launch the expulsion plans.”
