Plufl Human Dog Bed for $275: The Venn diagram of comfortable players and those who like to nestle is probably closer to a circle than we think. The Plufl human dog bed is extremely comfortable thanks to its memory foam sides and base and a plush, machine-washable cover. I find it’s the perfect place to play for hours, and there’s also room for snacks and stuffed animals. I wish the footprint was smaller, but I’m always willing to sacrifice space for it, which should be a testament to its comfort.

MoonPod for $299: If you want a comfortable place to play, but the Plufl isn’t for you, the MoonPod is worth a look. This foam-filled chair makes you feel weightless. Basically, you can always find a way to feel comfortable. I’m short, so I can use it as a bed, but my much taller friends have also managed to take a nap in it.

Big Blanket Co. Oversized Blanket for $249: This 10-by-10-foot blanket has a truly gargantuan footprint, and it’s large enough to wrap around you multiple times. It’s the epitome of comfort. If you want something even more comfortable, check out our electric blanket buying guide.

Backbone One or Backbone Pro (Cozy Edition) mobile game controller for $99 to $170: The Backbone One is our favorite mobile gaming controller, and the Backbone Pro is a nice upgrade (both are aimed at USB-C phones). The controllers come in special pink or purple Cozy editions, although the only difference between the Cozy and standard editions is aesthetics. Both controllers work well and turn your phone into something more like a miniature gaming console. I played successfully Valley of Stars for 20 hours at a time using mine. There’s direct charging, a full library of compatible games and features through the Backbone app, and really comfortable buttons and triggers that won’t tire your hands.

How does WIRED test comfortable gaming?

I play as many enjoyable games as possible in my limited free time! I’ve loved gaming since the Neopets era and I’m always looking to try out new titles. I consider game length, intuitive controls, unique scenarios or features, and wide availability of the system when deciding what to test and rank. I’m currently focused on finding more RPGs (or role-playing games), adventure games, and indie games, and hope to give History of the seasons, Minecraft, PokémonAnd Coral Island dedicated time soon. I will also cover Wizard Creek when it will (finally) be published.
