Two teenagers died after a shooting in Lacey, according to emergency services.

Lacey Fire District 3 confirmed its crews found two teenagers lying in the street near the intersection of College Street and 24th Avenue SE around 2 a.m.

Both teens were shot and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Lacey Police Department.

They were identified as Alexander Borgen, 16, of Lacey, and Deven Borgen, 17, of Riainer. The two men are brothers, according to Lacey PD.

“We’ve never had this this close to our neighborhood, I mean we hear a lot of gunshots, but not this close and we’re getting shot at here,” a neighbor said. “That’s why I love being here, it’s peaceful, nothing like this has ever happened… It’s shocking to see this happening right down the street from me.”

Lacey police were on scene all morning investigating and the road was reopened at 10:45 a.m.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting. They said the incident appeared to be a drive-by.

Lacey police said this type of violent crime doesn’t happen often in this area.
