2026 American Express: Scottie Scheffler wins by four strokes in season debut

It’s a new season, but it’s the same kind of thing on the PGA Tour.
Scottie Scheffler conquered the American Express in the Tour’s first American event of the season, and he did it on a Sunday afternoon where he put nothing but distance between himself and the peloton.
Scheffler missed this event last year as he suffered a hand injury, but that did little to slow him down for all of 2025 as he would go on to win the PGA Championship and The Open Championship.

This win is officially the first Scottie has ever had in a season and if this is representative of an even more stellar season ahead of us from him… good luck to anyone who dares to stand in his way.
Plus…Scottie has now won 20 events on the PGA Tour. It took him 151 starts to get there, the second-fewest number ever, as he (shockingly here) trails only Tiger Woods who took 95.
We’ve seen the last few years serve as Scottie Scheffler’s year. 2026 doesn’t look much different.
