New Report Reveals Justice Alito Was Briefly Hospitalized in March – RedState
On Friday, we learned that on March 20, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito was briefly treated and released for what was described as a “dehydration” issue. He was not admitted and suffered no further effects.
Fox News reports:
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito was treated for dehydration at a hospital after an undisclosed incident March 20 in Philadelphia, sources told Fox News.
He was not admitted and returned home that evening without complications.
Alito, 76, attended a Federalist Society dinner that evening and reported feeling dizzy, prompting his security detail to recommend a preventive visit to the hospital. Sources said the judiciary has had no problems since.
Justice Alito was appointed to the Supreme Court by President George W. Bush in 2005 and has served on the Court since 2006. His previous positions included judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit as well as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey.
Alito is one of the Court’s originalists, writing the majority opinion in cases such as McDonald v. City of Chicago and Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. He is currently the only military veteran serving on the Supreme Court.
There has been recent talk that Justice Alito is considering retirement, perhaps to ensure that President Donald Trump can name his replacement, but Justice Alito himself has made no such announcement and has not even alluded to it.
