Executive orders — even when unimpeded by the courts — have a shelf life. Trump’s successor will be fully within his powers to slash the executive orders of his predecessor to pieces. The Trump administration has just a few years to enshrine their education goals into policy capable of withstanding future administrations. Thankfully, Trump has a major card to play.
