Fly
Game of Thrones the former Sophie Turner stars in FlyPrime Video’s new high-octane thriller about the heist of the century. Lucky for us, the streaming giant is dropping all six episodes in one fell swoop, making the recently released series a top choice for a daylong binge.
It’s just another normal, boring day at work at pension fund investment firm Lochmill Capital, until a gang of violent thieves break in and take over the company. To carry out their demands and sow chaos, the gang chooses Zara (Turner), an office worker, and her friend Luke (See Archie Madekwe). Robberies are common, but not when they involve pension funds. Who would want to steal billions of euros in pensions from ordinary people, and why?
This is what DCI Rhys (Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, from TThe Queen’s Gambit) hopes to find out, but this game of cat and mouse will prove to be one of his biggest challenges yet. As a recently relapsed drug addict, it is imperative that the Detective Chief Inspector keeps his own money problems at bay while he works with the secret agendas and competing interests at the center of this high-profile crime.

How to escape murder
I enjoy a good legal thriller, but none (not a single one in all my years of TV viewing) has been as gripping, suspenseful and addictive as ABC’s. How to escape murder. With all six seasons available, it makes for a perfect binge.
The hit series follows brilliant criminal defense attorney and law professor Annalize Keating, played by Academy Award and Tony-winning actress Viola Davis. When she’s not in the courtroom mopping the floor with prosecutors, she teaches a seductive course called How to Get Away with Murder at a prestigious Philadelphia university. When she and five of her first-year interns become embroiled in a twisted murder plot, mysteries arise that test everyone’s limits and reveal the darkest of truths.
This is not your typical legal thriller. Expect gripping mysteries that are fast-paced, unpredictable and full of twists and cliffhangers. This melodramatic thriller also features strong performances from its supporting cast and a powerful, phenomenal performance from Davis. On top of all that, you’ll get a unique visual experience thanks to the series’ use of non-linear editing techniques to help unfold the series’ complex narratives. It’s juicy and delicious, so when you can’t stop, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Viola Davis became the first black woman to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, also winning a SAG Award and an NAACP Image Award. She has also racked up several nominations at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards. The show itself won an American Film Institute Award and multiple GLAAD Media, NAACP Image, and People’s Choice Awards throughout its six seasons.

My Lady Jane
If historical fiction series are as entertaining to you as they are to me, I highly suggest you explore My Lady Jane. It’s a remarkably refreshing comedic treat that you’ll be happy to have added to your weekend. Based on the New York Times bestselling YA fantasy novel of the same name, the series offers a witty and magical retelling of the tragic story of Lady Jane Grey.
A quick history lesson: As the great-granddaughter of Henry VII and great-niece of Henry VIII, Lady Jane was proclaimed Queen of England and Ireland in July 1553. She reigned for nine days before being accused and then beheaded for high treason. The series reinvents his destiny with fantastical elements such as the shape-shifting of an animal, and gives the main character a destiny that deviates far from the historical narrative.
What’s so awesome and binge-worthy My Lady Jane is that it takes factual Tudor history and blends it seamlessly with historical fantasy romance, magic and adventure, and a unique comedic style reminiscent of The Princess Bride And The Great. It features strong female leads, gorgeous costumes, clever writing, and a fairly entertaining escape from your typical period drama.
Prime Video has so much in store this year that you’ll want to go ahead and manage your watchlist to make sure you can find what you want, when you want it. Enjoy your binge!
