4 injured in Dubai hotel fire after reported Iranian strike

Four people were injured in a fire at a hotel in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah area after a loud explosion was reportedly heard as the Iranian regime launched retaliatory strikes in the Middle East.
The Dubai Media Office, a government entity, said in a statement on Saturday that the site was safe and the fire had been brought under control.
“The safety and well-being of residents and visitors remains the top priority. Authorities continue to take all necessary measures to protect the public. The public is urged to remain calm, rely only on verified information from official sources, and refrain from spreading videos or images on social media,” the media office wrote on X.
Dubai authorities confirmed that “an incident” had occurred at a building in the Palm Jumeirah area and that emergency response teams responded, but did not provide details on the cause of the incident.

Many Gulf states have condemned Iranian retaliation on their territory and affirmed their solidarity with their neighbors in the region.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said it “fully reserved the right” to defend itself after what it described as Iranian aggression targeting Qatari territory, while Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry warned of “serious consequences resulting from the continued violation of state sovereignty and the principles of international law.”

The UAE Defense Ministry said the country “was subjected to a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles,” adding that air defense systems “managed to intercept a number of missiles.” He said the UAE “fully reserves the right to respond.”
