Hacker deletes ‘Tinder for Nazis’ and leaks thousands of profiles online | News World

The profiles of thousands of people who joined a white supremacist dating site were leaked online after it was hacked.
An anonymous hacker broke into WhiteDate and deleted it – but not before downloading the 100 gigabytes of data behind it.
Broadcasting the moment live while dressed as a pink Power Ranger, the German web activist – calling herself “Martha Root” – said the site’s security was so weak it would “make even your grandmother’s AOL account blush”.
It has since extracted 8,000 profiles and posted them online – although the total number of profiles in the leaked data is believed to be much higher.
Information such as location, username, age and personal biography is included, as well as photos in some cases – although email addresses and private messages have not yet been made public.
Most of the profiles were based in the US, with around 400 in the UK, similar numbers in France and Germany and others spread across Europe.
It is unclear whether the hacker drew proportionally from data from different countries or whether some are overrepresented due to the way the data was extracted.
A profile belonging to a 27-year-old man from Barnard Castle, County Durham, named Kieran, highlights his wish to find “a woman who understands the threat to our race”.
Rather than a desire for romance, Kieran said his desire was fueled by having “observed the life of our city”. [sic] become refuges of degeneration and foreign cultures.”
A 31-year-old Wolverhampton resident, calling himself Mr Stone, wrote: “I want to join this site because I’m tired of logging into other Christian sites and not being able to make it clear that you don’t care about black people or any other species of humanity if you can call them that.”
The site’s members were predominantly male, with Root saying its male-to-female ratio “makes Smurf Village look like a feminist utopia.”
KK, a 55-year-old Londoner, said she loved “collecting organic seeds” and wanted a “Mr. Right” who knows politicians are “controlled by the same people.”
Despite joining a site designed to “preserve the white race”, Minty95, 30, from Swansea, said she “doesn’t want to procreate”.
The entire data – including profile photos, many of which contain metadata revealing where they were taken – was made available to verified journalists and researchers.
Root says she identified the company behind it as a Paris-based company.
These claims could not be immediately verified, although in 2019 the site registered the trademark “White Deal, Hire European Staff”.
