5 Husky tools from Home Depot you’ll love

The Home Depot is one of the most popular hardware stores in the United States, offering a wide variety of tools from all the top brands. And while most people walk in and look for Stanley, Milwaukee, Ryobi, or even Craftsman hand tools, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how great Home Depot’s house brand tools are in terms of quality and price point.
It’s easy to avoid house-branded tools for something you already know and trust, but Home Depot’s Husky line is actually pretty decent. I own several, from flashlights to torque wrenches, a car jack, and more. With that in mind, here’s a collection of affordable Husky tools at Home Depot you’ll probably love.
Husky Stubby Ratchet and Socket Set
One of the most popular and highly rated hand tools offered by Husky is this compact 46-piece ratchet and socket set. Even if you already own a few ratchets, it’s never a bad idea to have a few extras in various sizes.
More specifically, I’m referring to the Husky 3/8 and 1/4-inch Stubby combo pack, which comes with three compact hand tools and dozens of attachments, all for under $30. Better yet, this is constantly on sale, making it an even better buy.
The Husky Stubby kit has a screwdriver, wrench, and ratchet, along with 22 sockets and over 20 additional accessories. It’s an excellent package that’s durable enough for tough DIY jobs around the house, yet small enough for a quick wrench job under your vehicle in a tight space.

Husky 3-Ton Floor Jack with Stands
While some automotive repairs are best left to the professionals, you can save a lot of money by doing simple tasks at home. I’m talking about things like an oil change, tire rotations, or even swapping your own brake pads. All you need is a little time, patience, a few basic tools, and something like the Husky 3-Ton floor jack.
The Husky 3-Ton Floor Jack with Jack Stands can handle large vehicles upwards of 6,000 lbs, and can extend upwards of 17 inches off the ground, giving you ample clearance to complete a range of maintenance jobs.
Additionally, this hydraulic floor jack comes with two large jack stands, which you’ll absolutely want to use for added safety. Once you have raised your vehicle to the required height, use the stands to support the vehicle’s weight instead of the jack. That’ll keep things safe while prolonging the life of your floor jack.
I really like that this floor jack is capable of handling tons of weight while also providing stands at the same time.

Husky Aluminum Flashlight
You probably own a few flashlights that are sitting in a junk drawer, closet, or lost somewhere in the garage. I do too. However, I recently bought an affordable 2-pack of this exact Husky 500-Lumen aluminum flashlight at Home Depot, and they’re excellent.
Flashlights come in a range of sizes, quality, and brightness levels, and I’m a big fan of the brand Olight. However, if you’re looking for a cheap, durable, and practical flashlight for emergencies, you can put these Husky lights all around the house. It ranges from 500 to 1000 lumens in turbo mode and features a rechargeable battery.
While this isn’t necessarily a hand or power tool, a flashlight is an essential tool for a multitude of jobs, so don’t forget to buy one.

Husky makes some pretty durable flashlights at an affordable price point. Like this 500-1000 Lumen aluminum water-resistant flashlight. And yes, it’s rechargeable.
Husky 1/2-inch Drive Torque Wrench
Anyone looking to work on their vehicle at home should own an adjustable torque wrench. And while I also would recommend a battery-powered impact wrench, a torque wrench serves a different purpose, and it’s incredibly important.
The Husky 50 ft-lb to 250 ft-lb drive torque wrench is what you’ll use to torque down nuts, bolts, spark plugs, or tire lug nuts to the appropriate level. When you rotate tires, you’re not supposed to turn those lug nuts with all your strength until they don’t turn anymore. Tires should actually get tightened to a specific torque, often somewhere between 80 and 120 ft-lb.
Putting your tire lug nuts on too tight can strip the lugs or pull and break the entire wheel stud off, which is extremely dangerous. That’s just one scenario. Basically, you’ll want a drive torque wrench for all sorts of jobs, and you don’t need to spend big on Snap-On or Matco, either. Husky makes a fine option, and it’s often on sale for under $60.

Husky 1/2 in. Click Torque Wrench has a range of 50 ft. / lbs. to 250 ft. / lbs. and is made of alloy steel construction for strength and long-lasting performance on a budget.
While I wouldn’t typically recommend these large tool sets, as you usually sacrifice quality for quantity, any beginner or DIY enthusiast looking for a starter set can appreciate this option from Home Depot.
Husky’s 300-piece Mechanics tool set comes with 1/2-inch, 1/4-inch, and 3/8-inch tools, SAE and MM, and one $170 box will get you a huge supply of hand tools for a wide variety of jobs. Buying all of these separately could easily cost over $1,500, especially if you opt for premium brand tools. And while these certainly aren’t the best, it’s a capable little set you’ll probably love.
More importantly, these tools come with a lifetime warranty, and if anything breaks, you can always visit your nearby Home Depot and have it swapped out. I bought something similar years ago and used it extensively until I slowly gathered a bigger and better collection.
