5 of the most ingenious animal escapes of 2025, so far

It was not until July, and it was a busy year for zoo staff and animal owners for viral animals for having disappeared. These escapes of notable animals of the past few months would make the courageous penguins of the cinematographic classic Madagascar proud.
Misha and Lucy bears
When Bear brothers and sisters escaped their speaker at the Wildwood Devon Zoo in England, everyone naturally panicked. The staff evacuated the park and called the police – just to find that Misha and Lucy had only reached the kitchen, which had just received a delivery of fruits and vegetables. The Bears helped themselves with the products and a week of honey before falling asleep.

Sheila the kangaroo
It is not every day that you see a kangaroo freely in Alabama, in particular a jumping along an interstate between Montgomery and Auburn. However, it was exactly where the marsupial named Sheila was in late April, before the soldiers of the State and its owner managed to catch it.
“I hear my grandmother shouting:” Is it a kangaroo? “” Austin Price, a person who filmed Sheila along the highway, told the Associated Press. Price thought that her grandmother had seen a deer. But then he took a look and realized: “Yeah, it’s a kangaroo.”
Ed Le Zèbre
Ed Le Zèbre arrived for the first time in Christiana, a community in the center of Tennessee on May 30. On May 31, the zebra was already missing. Several observations and publications on social networks later, including one with ED calmly trotting in a suburban district – and the zebra had become a feeling of social media.
On June 8, the Rutherford County sheriff’s office confirmed that ED had finally been captured and returned by transport transported to an animal trailer. A video presents the Zebra seated comically straight in a net carried by a helicopter. As you can imagine, the memes have taken the internet.
Louie and Ophelia La Rivière Otters
Of all the escapes of wild animals listed here, Louie the otter of the North American river was the only one to successfully avoid recovery. He and his compatriot Otter Ophelia escaped from the new zoo adventure park in northeast Wisconsin in March and directed the staff of a thief Wild Chase with the help of certain mischievous rats.
Ophelia was caught on April 1. Two months later, the zoo announced that “due to the duration of Louie’s disappearance, we believe that he made the decision to be a wild otter”.

Mac the Wallaby
On June 16, a Wallaby female named Mac escaped Grace and Glory Animals, an animal education zoo in Oswego, New York. He started another frantic marsupial hunt with daily updates on the social networks of the owner of the Dan Oostdyk zoo, with hundreds of actions from a worried audience.
“Is it me or does he make the impression that we are trying to take a fucking PokĂ©mon,” said a Facebook user on June 19 update on a confirmed observation of Mac. The PokĂ©mon-Wannabe was finally apprehended on June 25.
