Into The Spider-Verse
Miles Morales lands himself in a sticky situation
Hailed as some of the most innovative works of animation, specifically for their unique blend of 2D and 3D animation, the Spider-Verse films are based on Marvel Comics and produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation. The rewatch value of both films (Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse) is incredibly high, with visuals and storytelling that have cemented them in Hollywood’s hall of fame.
Set in the alternate universe of the Spider-Man multiverse, the Spider-verse films follow Miles Morales as he becomes his universe’s Spider-Man, meets his counterparts from other universes, and saves lives along the way. In Into the Spider-Verse, Miles clashes with Kingpin after the supervillain murders his universe’s Peter Parker. Miles also meets Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman) and Peter B. Parker.
Into the Spider-Verse won the Best Animated Feature Oscar at the 91st Academy Awards. Due to Netflix and Sony’s new Pay-1 deal, signed earlier this year, you can expect to find some more popular SPE titles in select territories, including the US.
Don’t forget to tune into Netflix’s own films that won Oscars at this year’s Academy Awards, including Frankenstein, The Singers, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and All the Empty Rooms. You can find more related films in Netflix’s Oscar Collection.
