In emotional speech, Zohran Mamdani defends Muslim identity against 'racist and baseless' attacks

Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, pledged Friday to more embrace his Muslim identity in response to growing attacks from former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his surrogates whom he called “racist and baseless.”
