6 Ways to Make the Windows 11 Widgets Panel Actually Useful

The Windows 11 widget panel can be practical, but its ready -to -use configuration is often messy. You will find widgets that you can never use, others placed or dimensioned inappropriately, and some who do not display correct information. Fortunately, Windows allows you to customize this panel – and here is how you can do it.

By default, the widget panel is filled with random widgets you may not need or you don’t want. This is why the first step is to erase useless and replace them with useful options. You can choose from the available widgets or download others from the Microsoft store – some are free, while others need unique payment.

To pin a widget, press Win + W To open the widget panel, click on the ” +” icon in the upper right corner to browse the available widgets, select the ones you want to add and click on “Pin”. To explore more, click on “Find more widgets” in the lower left corner, which will bring you to Microsoft Store. If you want to delete one, just click on “a Upin widget” or “hide this widget”.

The default widget arrangement in Windows 11 is not practical, and some are awkwardly placed from the start. Once you have added the widgets you want, the next step is to organize them properly so that the most relevant information is visible when you open the panel. To move a widget, drag it to your favorite place and the others will automatically adjust around it.

To make the layout more personal, make sure that key widgets receive more visibility while the least important take a minimum of space. You can resize the widgets to control the amount of information they display, simply click on three horizontal points and choose between small, medium or large. In this way, the main widgets can show more details, while others remain compact and away.

Most widgets do not display correct information by default and can display non -relevant or incorrect details. For example, the weather widget may not be defined in your exact location, the financing widget could list the actions or the indices that you do not follow, or the Spotify widget may not include your favorite reading lists. So they might not be as useful as you can imagine.

To make widgets really useful, you will have to refine their content. To do this, click on the three horizontal points in the upper right corner of a widget and select “Customize the widget”. From there, adjust the options available so that the widget displays information relevant to you, rather than generic data. Then follow the same steps for each widget that you added to the panel.

Adapt the Discover Feed content

The Discover section in the Widgets panel of Windows 11 highlights trend subjects, but the content displayed by default may seem random. To make it more relevant, Microsoft allows you to choose favorite subjects and publishers. In addition to selecting what you want to see, you can also block publishers whose content does not interest you at all.

To refine what appears in Discover, click on the three horizontal points at the top right and select “Manage interest”. Add subjects or publishers you prefer by clicking on the icon plus, and they will appear under “following”. If you meet an editor that you do not like, open the same menu and block them to prevent the appearance of similar content.
