It seems like there’s always a new health trend popping up. It can be hard to know which ones are actually worth trying. We asked our Health editors which health trend they’re into right now. Here’s what trend they got on board with—and why they’re sticking to it.

I’m not one to follow trends, but my water flosser was a game-changer this year. I couldn’t stand it at first, but I grew to love it. At a recent dental appointment, my hygienist said I had “virtually no plaque.” I guess it’s working!

Red light therapy for my skin! I have the Nushape Lipo Wrap, and I wrap that around any body part, like my stomach or thighs, or drape it over my chest. It’s heated, so it also feels nice on.

-Mellanie Perez

I love a red light mask! It’s really changed my skin and kept me more honest about my skincare routine.

-Tori Partin

I’m fully supportive of the love cottage cheese is getting right now. I think it’s a satisfying and tasty snack on its own, but there are also some creative ways to use it as an ingredient. Blended cottage cheese in place of heavy cream in my favorite soup recipe? Indulgent with a protein boost. Count me in.

It’s everyone’s obsession, including mine: I am really into pickleball! It is so fun to play. I’ve done lessons, open plays, and social plays at different locations, both indoors and outdoors. The pickleball community is welcoming, encouraging, and helpful. It’s a sport I play when I want to de-stress. Plus, I feel like it’s improved my endurance, agility, and coordination.

-Colleen Murphy

This is one of the few health trends I’ve seen that experts say they can get behind. I’ve been making an effort to pay attention to my daily fiber intake and try to sneak in some more, usually by adding a fruit or veggie to every meal.

-Jenna Anderson

Gut health! It’s so interesting how connected the gut is to overall mind and body health. I try to incorporate probiotic or fiber-rich foods into most of my meals to keep my gut healthy.

-Hannah Harper

I’m halfheartedly on the creatine train, which I understand will do nothing for me if I’m not consistent. But I’m trying to become consistent. I’ve made lifting weights a priority in my 30s, and if creatine can help my muscle function, I’d love to give it an earnest try.

Health trends commonly revolve around diets, supplements, workouts, or skincare routines.

No matter what type of health trend you’re interested in trying, talk with a doctor first. They can help you decide whether the trend is safe for you and if it would be effective.
