Judge passes DiMaggio for fourth-most HRs in Yankees history
BOSTON – The Slugger of the New York York Yankes Yankees struck his 362nd circuit on Friday evening, breaking an equality with the temple of renown Joe Dimaggio and taking the only possession of fourth place on the list of all time of the franchise.
A match after the judge has succeeded twice to equalize Dimaggio with President Donald Trump at Yankee Stadium to mark the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the Captain of the Yankees struck the second land he saw from Lucas Giolito de Boston on the green monster in the field of the left center in Fenway Park.
The 468 feet shot helped New York at a 4-1 victory over Boston while longtime rivals are fighting for the playoffs. The Yankees entered the night with an advantage of half of the Red Sox in the Al East, behind the Toronto division chief, with the two in a position for a joker berth.
The judge reached 362 Homers in his 1130th match. Dimaggio played 1,736 games and struck his last circuit on September 28, 1951, at the end of a 13 -year career which was interrupted for three seasons because he served during the Second World War.
The 47th circuit of the judge’s season increased its best average in the major league stick to 0.324.
The judge broke an equality with the recipient of the Yogi Berra temple for the fifth on the New York career list on Tuesday evening. Babe Ruth struck 659 of his 714 circuits with the Yankees. Mickey Mantle (536) and Lou Gehrig (493) are the other Yankees before the judge.
