Lakers Roster Already Raising Red Flags

The Los Angeles Lakers enter their first full season with the superstar Luka Doncic on the list after having made several movements to improve the team.
The franchise was desperately aimed at a tall man after his release in the first round in the playoffs due to a lack of physics.

After continuing several centers in free agency and in block, the Lakers landed Deandre Ayton. The Portland Trail Blazers bought Ayton from the last year of his agreement, leaving him available as a free agent.
The Lakers also added striker Jake Laravia and goalkeeper Marcus Smart to the list, completing their notable movements.

Despite all these movements, Los Angeles still has a significant weakness in the team, according to Kevin Pelton d’Espn.
“As powerful as the Luka Luka Lakers perimeter, LeBron James and Austin Reaves is offensively, he is defensively limited,” Pelton wrote in a story on ESPN.
“Dorian Finney-Smith, now in Houston, was the Lakers’ perimeter cap after the deadline,” noted Pelton.
“They added Marcus Smart, but at this stage of his career, Smart could be better against the big opponents than defending the point of attack,” added Pelton.

In terms of perimeter defenders capable on the list, the Lakers have Jarred Vanderbilt, a strict and tagged attacker who can keep several positions and stay in front of fast players.
Gabe Vincent, although inconsistent at this stage of his career, can sometimes offer some defense of quality guard.
However, apart from these two players, the Lakers lack high -level defenders who can effectively protect the elite offensive creators of the modern NBA.
How can Lakers improve their defense?
Although no key addition via trade or the free agency has specifically come for the defense of the perimeter, there are internal solutions to their defensive misfortunes.
Goalkeeper Bronny James and striker Adou Thiero are two young players who can take a step before next season.
James showed his defensive chops, creating reversals and playing players to take difficult shots during the NBA Summer League.
After an impressive passage in the G-League, James should have the possibility of breaking the rotation and potentially fill the need for the defense team.
Thiero, the choice of the second round of the franchise, enters the NBA with a high engine and an athletics to keep on the perimeter.
If one of these players can take a step forward, Donic and LeBron James will have less defensive burden, and this can allow Smart to keep these greatest attackers.
Smart can always be productive and precious on the field, although the limitation of his exhibition to Shifty players will be the key.
