Poshmark Is Lowering Its Shipping Fees for the First Time in a Decade

There are great news that brews in the resale community, that I am an active participant both as a buyer and seller. Poshmark, my favorite resale platform, reduces its shipping costs from tomorrow, which means that buyers will pay less for purchases – but sellers will have a very different process to follow to ship their goods.

One of the main reasons why I preferred to use Poshmark to other applications like Mercari and Depop is shipping rate. Other applications invoice shipping according to the weight of the purchase, which in many cases is only a supposition that the seller does, so you do not know your real total before it is time to check. On Poshmark, whether you bought an item to a seller or a whole lists, you paid $ 8.27. But from September 12, this represents $ 6.49, according to Poshmark.

This is an important news for buyers, who will have to spend less. Sellers have the possibility of offering “shipping prices” to buyers, with the difference between free delivery, $ 4.99 or $ 5.99 that leaves their income. Priority shipping at flat rate of poshmark made my effort to sell all my old clothes almost too easy. Even better, priority envelopes and shippers are free, therefore (and many other sellers) would only store them at the post office. This Monday, I had to send eight sales. It did not take me from time because I had a stock of priority envelopes and, once again, I never had to print labels or do anything beyond the walked wrap at the post office.

The new sales process

For my part, I am delighted with this change, which is the first reduction in poshmark shipping in a decade, even if it means that I have to adjust my process and could end up paying for certain envelopes and boxes.
