UCLA fires coach DeShaun Foster after Bruins start 0-3

The UCLA dismissed the football coach Deshaun Foster on Sunday after an start to the season without a victory.

Foster, who was in his second year as a Bruins coach, went 5-10 during his short term and started this season with a defeat of 43-10 Utah at home, followed by consecutive defeats against the Mountain West teams.

“I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Deshaun for his contributions to the UCLA football in many years, first as a student-renowned temple, then as an assistant trainer and finally as a chief trainer,” said UCLA sports director Martin Jarmond, in a press release. “He was named in this role at a difficult period of the year, at the dawn of a move to a new conference, and he kissed her, putting his heart to advance the program. His inheritance and his love for this university are firmly established. He is the best bruin for life, and we wish him, his wife, his charity and their family.”

Tim Skipper, previously Foster’s special assistant, will serve as an acting coach from the Bruins for the rest of the season, the school said.

After a break in the hands of the UTES during week 1, the Bruins underwent a defeat of 30-23 against the UNLV in Las Vegas. Seeking to bounce back, UCLA welcomed a team from the New Mexico to the Pink Bowl which was chosen to finish 11th at the Mountain West. But after a shocking defeat of 35-10 Saturday in the hands of the lobos, Foster did not chop words on the state of the program.

“It’s pretty low right now,” said Foster. “I have been around this program for a long time, and it’s just unhappy what is going on right now. Just don’t execute.”

Ancient All-American for Bruins, Foster led the team to a 5-7 file last season, but the UCLA finished 4-2 in its last six games, which seemed to give it a dynamic before the 2nd year of the Foster era.

During the offseason, Foster brought together an impressive class in the transfer portal, including the addition of the old quarterse of Tennessee Nico Iamaleava. But for three games, Iamaleava could not find a pace in the Bruins offensive under the new Tino Sunseri coordinator and with a trembling offensive line.

“Serving as a head coach at the UCLA, my Alma Mater beloved, was the honor of a lifetime,” said Foster in a statement. “Although I am deeply disappointed that we could not achieve success that our players, fans and university deserve, I am grateful for the opportunity to have directed this program.”

The defense of the UCLA, which was a force there are two seasons, has granted 431 yards per match so far this season – the worst of the Big Ten and the 118th of the country.

The school announced on Sunday that it would honor the terms of the Foster contract, which includes a takeover which owes it more than $ 5 million. This amount would have dropped if the Bruins had waited to fire it until December 2.

According to school communication, Jarmond and Ad Erin Adkins, an executive senior partner, will immediately lead the search for a new head coach. They will be helped by a committee made up of sports leaders and companies accomplished and large from the UCLA which will be announced on a later date.
