Fantasy football free agent pickups: Daniel Jones among top options to replace injured QBs

The second Sunday of the NFL season was nicer with fantastic football managers than the first, with six players exceeding 30 PPR points, led by three of the best sports receivers.
Well, it was nicer unless you are the one that counts on the Bengals of Cincinnati QB Joe Burrow. While seven games presented 50 points combined or more (entering Monday evening) and the individual score was abundant, the long -term absence of the fantastic marker n ° 3 last season among the quarters should have the most persistent effects for fantasy managers.
Unfortunately, the bad quarterback news is not limited to Burrow. The double threat of New York Jets Justin Fields is in the concussion protocol and could miss the Sunday road match against the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay; Washington commanders star Jayden Daniels suffers from a knee injury and is uncertain for Sunday against Las Vegas raiders; And the Starter of the Vikings of Minnesota, JJ McCarthy, deals with an ankle injury and should not play against Bengals on Sunday.
Every Monday, before the end of the current NFL week, we will identify the players available in at least 50% Standard ESPN leagues worthy of your attention, from standard formats to deeper options. The NFL is a weekly league, and the evaluation of the players and the roles are rarely stagnant. No matter how you buy players for your fantastic lists, just that you get them.
Strategist
Jake Browning, Bengals from Cincinnati (Robaissé in 0.0% of the ESPN leagues): We start with this career safeguard, but many fantasy managers can do better in unique-QB formats. Browning, 29, made seven departures during the 2023 season, and he played with capacity, with an average of 20 fantastic points per game. Burrow (toe) should miss three months. Browning scored 17.74 points in Sunday’s victory against Jacksonville’s Jaguars, although this included three interceptions. He can launch the excellent Wrs Ja’mar Chase and Tee Higgins, and Rb Chase Brown is not so bad either. However, it can be more for the superflex / 2qb community. Bengals play difficult adversaries in Minnesota and Denver the next two weeks.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (33.5%): If you are going to lose a fantastic star in a standard league, be it a quarter-Arrière. There is depth here. For example, while Stafford has not yet recorded a week of fantasy among the first 10, scoring 13.6 points against Houston’s Texans during week 1 and 17.32 Sunday against Tennessee titans, he is a solid and far too available player. He plays a back injury, but he plays. That it represents, for this space, many veterans passers -by who deserve runoff on Browning. The Rams play a revenge match (playoffs last season) in Philadelphia this week, but Stafford launched 324 yards and two scores in January. It should not be exceeded.
Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts (21.2%): Fantasy managers may not have bought his weekly performance when he ran for two affected. They wanted to see more during week 2 against Denver Broncos. Jones exceeded 20 points again, marking his third hit on the ground, but he also spent 316 yards. The colts play Tennessee titans in week 3, and it’s an attractive match. Jones may not exceed 50% this week, but it seems to be worth counting this week.
Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers (0.6%): Jones has filled in a capable way for the starter Brock Purdy (toe), launching 279 yards and 3 affected in New Orleans. Jones is not a recruit, and there are certainly talented game leaders (and a good coach) who surround him. He may start in weeks 3 and 4 at home against cardinals and jaguars. We recommend it from Browning, but again, Browning should have the starting work for much longer, and it is also a consideration for desperate fantasy managers.

Back
Bhashul Tuten, Jacksonville Jaguars (40.0%): Leaving Travis Etienne Jr. scored 16.9 points on Sunday, with 16 keys, but the Rookie Tuten won 10, which is quite remarkable. He transformed them into 74 yards and a reception touch, for 15.4 points. Most believe that Etienne was the beneficiary of the trade of the Bigsby reservoir with the Eagles of Philadelphia, but it is probably the ascendant tutual, which already quickly approaches flexion status.
Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons (34.1%): Allgeier is probably overqualified to be a backup, but there is no controversy with regard to Star Bijan Robinson. However, Allge Plus has exceeded 600 yards on the ground of each of the last two seasons, and he should do it again. The Falcons rushed over more than 200 meters during an impressive victory on Sunday evening in Minnesota. Robinson, of course, paved the way. Allgeier did little week 1, so fantasy managers have moved on to something else. They can bring him back to the lists after winning 17 keys, a touch and 15.0 points.

Rams backup Blake Corum (5.3%) transformed one of its five Sunday keys to a touchdown, and therefore 10.4 points. Ho hum, but there are really not enough relevant runners available in 50% of the leagues to be included here. Many fantasy managers probably count on a wide receiver (or even a tight end) in their flexible position. Corum can become a star at some point if Kyren Williams is injured, but Williams is not injured.
-
Pittsburgh Steelers Backup Kenneth Gainwell (10%) won slightly better than in week 1, but still 59 yards on 20 keys on two games are not so much. Gainwell was among the most added runners entering week 2, but it is difficult to plead in favor of him, or any other ball carrier available before weeks off.
Wide receiver
Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers (20.3%): Doubs probably goes up a notch in the hierarchy after the starter Jayden Reed fractured his collarbone last Thursday. The problem with the hierarchy is that it is possible that no WR packers come out of a solid and deep rotation, especially when RB Josh Jacobs wins a massive volume, and Te Tucker Kraft has 140 reception yards in two games. Doubs caught three passes for 28 yards against Washington commanders, one for a touchdown. It is easily available. During a given week, it can be Doubs in mind, or the recruit Matthew Golden, or many like last season, when a Packer reached 60 receptions or 900 reception yards, no one shines. Place Reed, who may not play again before November, but do not assume packers to become WR3 options, or even WR4 safely.
Elic Ayomanor, Tennessee Titans (7.7%): Stanford’s recruit caught six of the 13 targets in two weeks, but it marked a touch on Sunday, and there is room to grow with its other newcomer QB Cam Ward. Star WR Calvin Ridley was held at points for a figure in every game. Keep Ridley Rossord, of course, but Ayomanor also deserves some attention.
Deandre Hopkins, Baltimore Ravens (9.7%): Hopkins has obtained shiny touching in each of the first two weeks, which is great, but it is probably not durable unless he no longer sees a volume. Hopkins has only four catches on four targets. That’s it. Why is he listed here? Well, people know his name, and it is possible that Qb Lamar Jackson looks like him in the coming weeks. Do not assume that you should get Hopkins when Zay Flowers is the volume reception option.

New York Giants Starter Wan’dale Robinson (29.9%) scored 28.2 points in the defeat against Dallas Cowboys, while Russell Wilson made a generous 450 yards by the pass. Do not expect Wilson – and therefore Robinson – repeats the performance of week 3 against the Chiefs of Kansas City, if ever.
-
Second year option of Denver Broncos TROY Franklin (2.0%) caught eight passes and a hit on Sunday, marking 24.0 points, and it clearly pushes Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. for attention. It’s a good thing. Franklin may be the best WR in Denver.
-
Jaguars Wr Dyami Brun scored a hit on Sunday and he has 26.4 points after two weeks. Not impressed? It turns out that these are more points than the established star Brian Thomas Jr. and the winner of the Heisman Travis Hunter trophy. Brown probably cannot maintain its production at this level, but Thomas and Hunter investors are probably panicking.
END
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans (48.2%): A repeated name last week, Johnson scored more than 15 points each of the first two weeks, dragging only Kraft aforementioned for a global final score. Johnson outlined the RB Alvin Kamara. This should not continue, but it does not mean that Johnson cannot maintain the production of TE1 for a while.
Zach Ertz, Washington commanders (50.0%): The cunning veteran has receptions of touching each of the first two weeks, and that is enough to make it popular in the fantastic leagues with a week 3 match against Las Vegas raiders.

Carolina Panthers starter Ja’tavion Sanders (1.0%) was an intriguing sleeper and in the deep league this season, but he did not do much during the week 1. He did more during week 2, catching seven of the nine targets and marking 12.4 points. Keep him in mind if your starter is injured.
D / ST
Deep league options / random thoughts
-
Green Bay Packers (44.8%): It is surprising that the D / S unit of Packers remains available in more than 50% of the standard ESPN leagues. He just scored 17 points in dominant victories on the offensive explosive Detroit Lions and the commanders of Washington. During week 3, packers face Cleveland’s browns. Brown are not explosive. Packers should be among the first 10 D / ST units at that time.
-
Indianapolis colts (36.6%): Likewise, fancy managers did not react to the results of week 1 by adding the D / ST colts in many leagues. This unit scored only 1 point against broncos on Sunday, but during week 3, it faces the Titans. It should be easier.
-
Kansas City Chiefs (12.4%): The chiefs held the Eagles at 20 points, although with a recovery point. There will probably be a turnover or three this Sunday evening against the Giants.
