Chicago White Sox scoring rut continues in 4-1 loss
The rating rut continued on Monday for the White Sox of Chicago in a 4-1 defeat against the Baltimore Orioles.
The SOXs were held at three points in three games while being swept away on weekends in Cleveland. The scratches continued on Monday when they returned to the field to start their last house of the season.
“(Let’s go back) to this series of Cleveland, there were good at-bats there,” said manager Willable. “They did, it seemed that each (defensive) game. And tonight, we couldn’t really hug him together. But we know that we have work to do.
“It starts with the quick, really aggressive ball early, in the area. I saw coarse balls and swings and failures, a few catches. So, he was just able to return to the basic stuff and shorten and go to the radiators.”
Monday’s race came in the first round. Mike Tauchman pulled a walk, advanced second in a simple with two withdrawals from Colson Montgomery and scored on a single of Curtis Mead to give the SOX an advance of 1-0.
The Orioles equaled him in the third with a simple RBI RBI from Jeremiah Jackson. SOX launcher, Sean Burke, walked two in the Channel. The right -hander gave a point on two safe strokes with four stick withdrawals and four balls on balls in four rounds after entering the second operator next Tyler Gilbert.
“I felt solid,” said Burke. “Regarding things, I felt good. I thought that overall, I was doing a very good job to get ahead of the guys. I’m just trying to do a little too much with the two -strike terrains and I ended up being non -competitive and in a way supported a count where I had to make land.
“So this week and enter the next one, emphasizing the continuation of trying to get ahead of the guys and be a little clearer with my two -strike locations.”
Venable said Burke “was good” in the performance of 89-mejotuse.
“There were still walks there,” said Venable. “Overall, we saw a lot of terrains in the area at the start of the count, we got ahead of the guys. But he couldn’t just put the guys tidy up. A good base for him to build, I must continue to be in the area.”
Monday’s release was Burke’s second since his return from Triple-A Charlotte.
“Regarding the season from top to bottom, I feel comfortable again,” said Burke. “I feel like I am in a good place. The coach staff supported everything we worked together on, and (Receiver Kyle) Teel did a very good job tonight by taking control of the game when we needed to do land.
“So I feel pretty good with everything. It is simply a question of continuing to be reproducible.”
The Orioles organized a rally of two outings against the SOX enclosure to take the lead in the sixth. Steven Wilson walked Coby Mayo and was replaced by Tyler Alexander. The left -hander returned a simple to Samuel Basallo. Colton Cowser followed with a stroke of three points destroyed.
The SOXs, on the other hand, were limited to four strokes while falling to 57-94.
Two of the strokes came first. Chase Meidroth chose the second, extending his strike sequence at 11 games. Dominic Fletcher doubled the fifth.
“Good first round there,” said Venable. “I couldn’t really tighten something together (after) (the starter of the Kyle Orioles) Bradish did an excellent job. He had very good things. He had somehow between the two, really beat us in all different ways. And just did nothing.”
The BRADIS has granted a point on four sure with nine stick withdrawals and four balls on balls in five rounds. Bradish and two lifts had 15 combined stick withdrawals.
Baltimore launchers combined to remove the last 15 Sox strikers.
“It’s part of baseball,” said Meidroth. “We are better than that. Many good swings on the ball, a few bullets just for people. We will continue to go tomorrow.”
