Keychron introduces world-first all-ceramic mechanical keyboard

The keyboards have become a little crazy lately, because the mechanical trend extends to all the facets of the niche and that companies are looking for a kind of advantage. Keychron, one of the most visible specialists, is not immune to hunting for the next great thing – which seems to be ceramics. Indeed, the new keyboard Q16 HE is all in ceramic, all the time.
If you have not exhaustively looked at the trends in the keyboard niche, ceramic equipment for Keycaps is a big problem. This is exactly what it looks like: a heavy and clay -based material covered with a layer of smooth varnish, which offers a gentle feeling that does not even look like the highest -end plastic. It is also noisy, with a distinct “clack” which comes with each touch pressure. (Maybe not bring it to the office or coffee.)
Keychron doubles the trend with its keyboard Q16 HE (spotted by Kitguru), making both the keys and the body of the keyboard itself from ceramic material.

The rest of the 65% card is fairly standard for high -end Q series from the company, including Linear Hall effects with adjustable activation, switching switches with hot exchange, RGB lighting and programmable options with the Keychron launcher based on the web. He will come in white and black options.
Despite the adjustable activation, the “quick trigger” function and the impressive 8,000 Hz survey, it is not marked as a gaming board via Lemokey Sublabel from Keychron. Nor is it wirelessly. Perhaps Keychron thought that these magnetic switches would take too much battery, or the ceramic body would interfere with wireless signals.
Keychron has not announced when the Q16 he is launched, although he first strikes Kickstarter when he will do, as usual for the company. There is no attached price either. Since ceramic keys can cost $ 100 or more alone, expect it to be very high.
