Samsung Galaxy One UI 8 Update Release Schedule Revealed

We recently reported that Samsung would formally begin the Android 16 update process this week, with leaks suggesting a September 18th launch. Now, that’s looking more likely. While South Korean models started receiving One UI 8 yesterday, many other regions can expect it by the end of the week. Here’s what we know.
The release of One UI 8, based on Android 16, delivers a host of exciting visual changes, new features, and AI goodies. According to Samsung, owners can look forward to advanced multimodal AI capabilities, an improved and better optimized user experience, extra personalization, improvements to Now Bar and Now Brief, and much more.
Samsung Galaxy Android 16 (One UI 8) Release Dates
Last week, Samsung’s Android 16 roadmap appeared on Twitter, but the Galaxy S25, S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra updates arrived earlier than expected. However, that was only for one region, and now Samsung Brazil has confirmed the date for its model, along with when One UI 8 will launch for the Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, Galaxy Fold and Flip models, tablets, and more.
Keep in mind that the dates listed below are for Samsung phones and tablets in Brazil, and they do not necessarily indicate when they will arrive for other regions or U.S. models.
Galaxy Phones:
- Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra – Around September 18
- Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, S24 FE, and S24 Ultra – Starting September 25

Samsung typically follows a straightforward launch window, and most regions will release the update from newest to oldest. So, before the company moves on to the Galaxy S24 in one region, it’ll likely finish the Galaxy S25 rollout in most other regions. Basically, this is a good timeline to follow so you’re prepared when it arrives.
If you have a relatively new Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet, it will receive the highly anticipated One UI 8 update in the next 30–45 days. Stay tuned for more details.
