Google announces massive expansion of AI features in Chrome

Now that it seems that Chrome will remain in the Google fold, the browser undergoes a rebirth infused with Gemini. Google claims that the browser will see its most important upgrade of all time in the coming weeks while AI permeates each part of the experience. For people who use AI tools, some of these additions could be useful, and for everyone, well, Firefox still exists.
The most important change, and the one that AI subscribers can already have seen, is the addition of a Gemini button on the desktop browser. This button opens a context window where you can ask questions – and get summaries of – happy in your open tabs. Android phones already have gemini operating in the system to accomplish similar tasks, but Google says that the IOS Gemini application will soon be integrated into Chrome for Apple devices.
Gemini is not limited to your current tab. Google aims to interact with other applications and tabs without leaving the current screen. When you invoke Gemini in Chrome, it can work with the contents in all your open tabs, and it has connections with Google products like Calendar and YouTube. He can also find links in your story according to a vague memory.
AI mode is also close to the Google’s default way to search for the web. The updated chrome now allows you to start research in AI mode from the omnibar. There is a button to press if you want AI mode, but it would be easy enough to exchange in AI mode for traditional searches in the browser. The omnibox will also obtain features of “ask on this page”. Chrome can suggest these questions (in English only for the moment) and show the answer in a side panel. The answer will naturally lead with an AI overview, and you can ask IA mode follow -up.
Google says it also uses AI to devote the safety of chrome. Gemini tools can already identify common technological support scams. A gemini nano updated model will be deployed which extends these detection characteristics to identify fake viral alerts and phony gifts. Chrome’s password manager already tells you about compromise passwords, but with his AI redesign, he can also modify them automatically for you with one click. However, it seems that it could easily be wrong.
