YouTube legends say who deserves a spot in internet history

This year, Vidcon did something he had never done before: he honored the creators who helped build the Internet as we know him. During the very first renowned temple ceremony, nine emblematic youtubers – including Joey Graceffa, Tyler Oakley, Rhett & Link, Rosanna Pansino, Hank Green, Grace Helbig and the Smosh duo – were induced for their lasting impact.
Naturally, we had to ask them: who else deserves a place?

Who should then introduce in his fame temple?
A name has come again and again: Philip Defranco. Creator content has 6.6 million subscribers and has been on YouTube since 2006, so next year would mark two decades on the site. Helbig and the co-founders of Smosh both pointed out that its cultural criticism and its news videos still have an impact on the Internet today.
Helbig also noted: “I mean, we have half a green brother; I think we need the other green brother.” John Green is half of the vlogbrothers channel and co -founded Vidcon alongside his brother Hank, who was inducted into the renown temple in 2025. Off Internet, John Green is the author of several best -selling novels, including The fault in our stars.

The co-founders of Smosh, Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, as well as Hank Green, all mentioned that Lonelygirl15 had won a place in the temple of renown for his vlogs, who took Youtube assault 19 years ago. It is largely credited as one of the first viral stars of its vlogs, which were then revealed to be a production created by Miles Beckett, Mesh Flinders, Greg Goodfried and Amanda Goodfried.
Another name repeated among the winners, like Joey Graceffa and Rosanna Pansino, was Ijustine. She collected more than 7 million subscribers during her 19 years on YouTube. Its technology content focuses on product criticism and interviews with technology CEOs.
Tyler Oakley recommended Glozell, the Youtuber with 4.54 million subscribers that almost broke the Internet with its Cinnamon challenge which accumulated 60 million views.
The other Youtubers who received enthusiasm cries included Ingrid Nilsen, Lilly Singh, Captain Sparklez, Fred, Vsauce and Ze Frank. But who will really gain a place in the Hall of Fame Vidcon next year? We will be listening to discover it.
