Vladimir Putin Is Pushing Trump Toward a Massive Confrontation

Vladimir Putin again calls the European bluff.
On Friday, three Russian fighter planes entered the Estonian airspace in a significant demonstration of aggression that will test the cohesion of NATO and the patience of President Trump.
“Very worrying reports of the Russian violation of Estonian airspace. This incident, like other recent Russian Russian violations in NATO countries, once again illustrates the severity of the Russian threat to European security and the fact that our preparation for NATO is constantly tested,” wrote a Swedish ato-minister, ULF Kristerson wrote on Friday. The member, Sweden is in solidarity with our allies and contributes to security in our region. »»
Estonia is the third member of NATO to have its airspace intruding by jet or drone in just a few days.
“Russia has already violated Estonian airspace four times this year, which in itself is unacceptable. But today’s incursion, involving three fighter planes entering our airspace, is unprecedented,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna told CNN. “” The increasingly extensive tests of Russia of borders and increasing aggressiveness must be welcomed with a rapid increase in political and economic pressure. »»
It is not known if this pressure will be sufficient to bring the Kremlin back, because it has certainly not done it so far. Russia has enough money and weapons stored to withstand any sanction that the EU can be made. The X factor here will be Trump again and its duration of attention. For what it is worth, Trump has talked more negatively about Putin in recent days, telling the media on Thursday that the Russian president had “left [him] Down ”to reach peace talks.
