Schumer’s Plot To Defund Rural Healthcare Goes Down In Flames

On Friday, the Senate rejected an expense plan led by Democrats who would have returned an investment of $ 50 billion in rural health care and promulgated a series of left priorities that the Republicans immediately declared to the dead.
Democratic leaders unveiled a proposal for spending on Wednesday to finance the government for four weeks with an accompanying price of approximately 1.5 billion of dollars, arguing that the proper cessation plan of the Republicans which would extend the funding of the government largely at the current levels did not include the language of health care among other elements. The Senate Republicans castigated their counterparts for proposing to cancel cuts with foreign aid and the financing of public broadcasting while nixing billions of dollars in rural health funding for their voters. “To be fair, the Democrats carry out spending discounts. Unfortunately, these cuts target the most vulnerable hospitals in our country in rural communities,” the second republican of the second -row Senate, in the Senate. “Senator Schumer demands $ 1 billion of new expenses to keep the government open for four weeks. It sends billions of dollars to foreign countries, but drop billions of dollars for rural hospitals in our country. ”
“Senator Schumer demands a list of far left wishes – otherwise he will close the government,” continued Barrasso. “Don’t be mistaken. The Republicans will hold the responsible democrats to support the dangerous political theater of Senator Schumer. ”
The congress is faced with a financing date of September 30 to avoid a government closure. The House of Representatives approved a GOP expense measure, known as continuous resolution (CR) with a single democratic legislator voting “no” on Friday morning.
Friday, the Democrats of the Senate succeeded in the CR adopted by the House, despite the measure, in particular the riders of partisan policies or the reductions in the financing of the government. Democrats were unable to specify what they opposed to the bill when they were in a hurry by the Daily Caller News Foundation earlier in the week.
Schumer, however, said that expenses provided for non-starter, citing costly health care provisions which, according to him, were to be attached to any government financing bill. The main democrat argued that the two competitors illustrated a “blatant contrast” between the two parties.
The Republicans agreed with the comments of Schumer, stressing the elimination of the rural health stabilization fund of $ 50 billion in the CR of Democrats.
“You cannot conclude that the Democrats do not care about rural America,” the Republican Senator of Ohio, Jon Husted, told DCNF. “In this particular case, these hospitals count on us to find a way to keep their doors open and improve the way they serve rural America.”
“If it was part of the proposal for this administration – if it has something to do with the administration – they [Democrats] will oppose it, “said Southern Dakota Republican Senator Mike Rounds at the DCNF.
The Republicans have created a $ 50 billion program for rural health providers to help compensate for Medicaid reforms in the Big Bill Act of President Donald Trump. The centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) begin to deploy funding and opened the requests on Monday to the States to request a slice of money.
“This program is a victory for each rural community across the country, and the administration urges each governor to apply,” said the White House spokesperson Victoria Lacivita, in the DCNF in a statement.

The CR proposed by the Democrats of the Senate would have eliminated the program by canceling the reforms of the Republicans in Medicaid in their budgetary bill which was adopted in July. The DCNF spoke on Friday to six Democratic senators who declared that they did not know the elimination of the fund or did not know the questions on the suppression of the program and proceeded to attack the Republicans so as not to extend the subsidies to the health insurance of the Biden era within the framework of a set of government funding.
“What I know is that people will be shocked in this country to see their premiums increase, see hospitals close this fall,” the Democratic Senator of Connecticut Chris Murphy told DCNF. “The Republicans will have a chance today to vote for a continuous resolution which prevents this massive increase in premiums and this massive closure of health care to advance.”
The CR proposed by the Democrats would oblige the government to borrow an additional 1.5 billion of dollars to finance the government until October 31, according to the center analysis for a responsible federal budget.
“Schumer’s closure plan reads as a draft of the future platform for the National Democrat Convention of 2028,” said Barrasso upstairs on the Senate on Thursday. “There are comfortable bonus payments. It is despite the fact that the cochered crisis ended years ago. ”
“Liberal states are rewarded for giving health care funded by taxpayers to illegal immigrants. They want valid and open people who refuse to work to continue to obtain Medicaid, “continued Barrasso while detailing the proposed plan of the Democrats. “They want to send dollars taxpayers abroad to pay climate projects.”
The Democrats’ proposal would have restored more than $ 1 billion in federal Medicaid expenses that have been reduced in a major Bill on Republicans. The reforms that Democrats have eliminated include new work requirements for valid adults registered in Medicaid and a restrictive language prohibiting illegal immigrants from receiving subsidies in Medicaid, Medicare and Affordable Care Act.
Schumer’s spending plan has also promulgated a permanent extension of the ACA subsidies at the expired time, costing taxpayers around $ 380 billion, according to the Economic Policy Innovation Center.
Democratic leaders also proposed to restore cuts with foreign aid and to finance public dissemination that the Republicans successfully canceled in July. The proposal also sought to cancel an proposed announcement that the White House sent to the Congress in September which would cancel an additional $ 5 billion in funding for foreign aid and American contributions to international organizations.
“We are not going to do so,” said President Mike Johnson Friday to journalists in a reference to Schumer’s counter offer. “Chuck Schumer has chosen to do partisan exercise, and Hakeem Jeffries too, and it’s wrong to do it.”
