Reds’ Nick Martinez loses no-hitter against the Padres in the ninth inning, flirting with season’s first no-no

The right -hander of Cincinnati Reds Nick Martinez dropped three withdrawals from history on Friday evening. Martinez lost a sure blow against the Padres of San Diego when Elias Díaz Box a double field on the left with pinching without withdrawal in the ninth round (CIN 8, SD 1). He launched 115 throws and was released after double. It was the first time all the season that a team has made an offer without cut in the ninth.
Martinez, 34, passed the 2022-23 seasons with the Padres after playing four years in Japan. He withdrew six and walked two on Friday, including Trenton Brooks to lead the ninth round before the Díaz double. The lift Taylor Rogers came and allowed one of the two runners he inherited from Martinez to score. Here is the double of Díaz to ruin non-frapper:
Martinez granted seven points in 2 ⅔ sleeves against the twins of Minnesota during her last departure on June 19. He was briefly demoted to the enclosure of the surveys after that. Martinez took an MPM of 4.40 in 15 departures and two relief appearances in Friday’s match. It was his first departure in the rotation after the relay.
Spencer Steer provided Martinez and the Reds with all the offense they need on Friday. He beat three circuits and struck with a chance to hit a fourth circuit in the eighth round, although he removed the side. There has never been a game to three man in the context of a boost in the history of the MLB.
Steer is the first Reds player with a three -man match since Jesse Winker against the Cardinals of St. Louis at Busch Stadium on June 6, 2021. This is the 40th match at three Hommer in the history of the Reds.
The Reds have 18 rush strokes in the history of the franchise, more recently, Wade Miley against Cleveland on May 7, 2021. Only the Los Angeles Dodgers (26) and Chicago White Sox (20) have more rush than Cincinnati.
The victory improved the Cincinnati record at 43-29. They entered matches 2 ½ of the day behind Joker’s third point and won 13 of the last 19 games.
