Tado’s new AI features will adaptively heat your home
The intelligent thermostat company Tado is launching new features fueled by AI which aim to help users to heat their home more effectively. Tado claims that the AS assistance update is based on existing automotive assistance options by the company by introducing an “advanced automatic learning” which “learns, predicts and optimizes” heating in real time.
AI assistance is available in Europe and the United Kingdom today for all Tado X owners at the same price as the existing Subscription of the Company (£ 29.99 per year or £ 3.99 per month). The existing auto assist subscribers will be upgraded automatically, although the owners of older tado equipment do not obtain the additional AI. According to the Tado press release, AI Assist includes:
Adaptive heating: Learn the unique heating and cooling characteristics of each room with Tado AI. It refines control of your smart radiator thermostats to optimize comfort and energy efficiency.
Preheat before arrival: Tado Ai uses advanced automatic learning to predict when you get home and preheat your home on time for your arrival.
IQ of energy: Use ideas fueled by AI that reveal exactly where and how you use energy, allowing smarter decisions and greater savings.
Holiday fashion: Allows you to define your heating to match your time, so that you return to a comfortable house while avoiding useless energy consumption.
Functionities such as Energy IQ and an outside mode for the holidays have already been included as part of the existing Assist Assist service, so this update does not look like a giant technological leap. Other intelligent house companies such as Nest have offered similar features without labeling them like “AI” innovations, it is therefore not clear if the use of Tado AI has a substance, or is simply a brand change in fashionable words.
