iOS 26.1 beta appears to fix iPhone Air, 17, and 17 Pro Wi-Fi issues

The latest batch of Apple phones, the iPhone 17, 17 pro, 17 pro max and air, have only been in stores since Friday, but they have already been affected by complaints that Wi-Fi on devices does not always work. Users in a range of forums have said that periodically, Wi-Fi connectivity “is disconnected briefly and then reconnects after unlocizing the iPhone”, which can also cause carplay disconnection.
A thread on the Apple community (which has 42 responses, moreover, although these figures are inflated by people suggesting repeated solutions and commentators): “I noticed that my Wi-Fi was regularly spread out in the configuration and that my wireless breadpot seems to be disconnected by intermittent.”
A response to this wire corroborates the problem. “Carplay is not reliable with iOS 26 and iPhone Air,” they say. “Wireless connection constantly falling. Unsusable.” And another complains: “Having the same Wi-Fi problems on my 17 pro max, Wi-Fi [drops] randomly and repeatedly without any service during my 16 pro max [works] perfectly.
A reditor, meanwhile, sums up the situation while “the iPhone 17 Wi-Fi goes out and each time I unlock the iPhone or slides and mounts and displays the lock screen (notification center). In addition, Bluetooth is also likely to fall when it happens. ”
At this stage, we only have anecdotal evidence, rather than appropriate data. Based on the number of reports, first identified by Macrumors, the problem seems at least reasonably widespread, but the real frequency and the cause are both unknown. Some complainants, for example, say that the “bug” takes effect when they wear an Apple Watch, but with so many people with both an Apple Watch and a new iPhone, it is impossible to say if it is really a factor.
Indeed, it is possible (although unlikely, given the volume and specificity of complaints) that the problem is not limited to new phones, but to iOS 26, that many people with older phones have not yet installed. Those who have the brand new equipment also tend to be more sensitive to bugs and problems, which are more distinguished on a device that otherwise offers advanced performance.
That it can affect older phones, Apple will examine the reports and decide if it needs a correction. In fact, he may have already done so: some complainants report that the installation of the first beta version of iOS 26.1 solves the problem. This is not an option for everyone, but we recommend those who have telephones assigned to keep an eye on the full version of iOS 26.1.
