She (2013)
Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) works on Beautifullyhandwritreters.com, where he writes letters for people’s relatives. When we meet him, he has a broken heart because his lover of high school divorce. He is removed and lonely, haunted by memories of his past relationship.
At that time, a new operating system arrived on the market, which can adapt to the needs of the user. Theodore installs the operating system and, once invited, chooses a female voice for this. The operating system (expressed by Scarlett Johansson) chooses the name of Samantha for itself. He becomes incredibly intelligent and sophisticated to the point that he feels entirely human to Théodore, and not in a way. Samantha really feels real and both are starting to fall from each other.
Will the relationship between a charming artificial intelligence and a sensitive but lonely writer will work? This is what we discover Her.
The film of the film Spike Jonze 2013 looks like watching a sunset. Filled with magnificent pastel, pink and yellow oranges, the film has a very memorable aesthetic. Technology and interfaces have the impression of being able to contact and touch them. The score (especially Dimensions By Arcade Fire) makes you feel what it is to be in love, to the point that you could find yourself looking for the soundtrack and playing it on a loop.

Good Will Hunting (1997)
Play Good desire to hunt When you feel stuck. Located in Boston, he is about twenty years old that Will Hunt (Matt Damon), a young man with a troubled past who has just finished a passage in prison to fight. After starting to work as a concierge at MIT, disintegrating the corridors near the department of mathematics, we learn that Will is actually a mathematical genius. We also learn that he will waste his time and his talents lying around with his mediocre friends (he loves) and is taken in a self-sabotage cycle.
Everything changes for the will when he surprised the resolution of an advanced equation intended for students, which causes him a lot of problems. To stay in prison, Will is forced to have therapy sessions with Dr Sean Maguire (Robin Williams), who slowly takes him to open, and we see the young man behind the hard abrasive shell. Sean is in mourning of the loss of his wife, and two men try to help each other to reconcile with their lives and to improve.
The dialogue is clear, the performance of Robin Williams earned him the best actor Oscar that year, and all the experience is just a pure catharsis.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
In Eternal sun of the spotless spirit, Joel (Jim Carrey) discovers that her ex-girlfriend, Clementine (Kate Winslet), had a procedure that erases her from her memories. He is devastated and registers to have her erased from his memories too.
When the procedure begins, the film brings us into the memories themselves and we see their turbulent relationship through the memories of Joel. Halfway through the process, Joel realizes his error and tries to stop him and save as much from his memories as he can.
Filled with beautiful and terrible moments, these sequences are so surreal and dreamy in a way that you must see for yourself to understand. They are never confusing, however, because the film makes you feel what Joel feels, until he has a last minute change of heart and realizes that he does not want to forget Clémentine. It is a soft portrait of love, lost love and cowardice.
The color palette of Eternal sun of the spotless spirit is filled with blues and mute gray, making the film itself feels like a rainy afternoon.

My neighbor Totoro (1988)
You can absolutely never be mistaken with My neighbor Totoro As a choice of rainy day. It is a masterpiece of studio Ghibli, which takes place in rural Japan, where we follow two children who befriend the forest spirit Totoro, while they deal with the recovery of their sick mother.
I didn’t watch it when I was a child, but Totoro Feels exactly like a summer vacation. There is no major conflict or high participations in the plot – there is no conventional villain. The film takes place in a way at a slow pace while the girls meet a wide range of delicious spirits and creatures and go on an adventure with their friend. But that doesn’t mean it’s boring; It’s just full of fantasy and childish wonder.
Animation and sound design are magnificent, as is the parameter. You can really drink it. I will not spoil it, but some of the sequences (which involve a real afternoon and a rainy evening) will remain with you forever.

Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
Little Miss Sunshine is not exactly a comforting film, because it deals with many heavy and serious subjects, but I always think it is an excellent film to invest a rainy day.
In this dramatic of road trips winner of an Oscar, we follow the Hoover family, which is a complete dysfunctional mess. Papa (Greg Kinnear) is a failed motivation speaker; Uncle Frank (Steve Carell) is seriously depressed; Grandpa (Alan Arkin) is a drug addict, Dwayne (Paul Dano) is a teenager obsessed with Nietzsche; Olive (Abigail Breslin), the youngest, likes to dance; And mom (toni collet) just try to keep the family together.
The entire dysfunctional team is piled up in a yellow VW van on their way to a beauty contest for children, in which Olive participates. This is not your typical road trip film, and you can even cringe teeth at points, but it seems strangely full of time.

Walter Mitty’s secret life (2013)
In Walter Mitty’s secret life, Walter (played by Ben Stiller) is a man with a bad case of reverie and has never done anything to be mentioned in his whole life. It is a photo archivist at Life Magazine, where he has a crush on his colleague but never dares to speak to him. Instead, he slips into elaborate dream sequences where he saves puppies from burning buildings or offering his crush.
The magazine becomes digital and the last printing issue is supposed to have a cover photo sent by a legendary photojournalist. The problem is that Walter cannot find the negative photo sent. Frying that he could lose his job, Walter proposes to find this negative photo, which ends up sending it on a global adventure that changes life. It turns out that it was the best decision he would ever make, and reveries will no longer dream.

Chef (2014)
Films on food scratch a very particular itch in my brain, and To cook is at the top of this list. Do not let the title be wrong – the film does not take place in a dull professional cuisine on an obsessive and tortured chef. It is actually a film on a father and a son.
Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) hates his work because the restaurant does not let him serve what he wants, and he ends up leaving after having a public fight with a gastronomic critic.
Carl goes on a trip across the country with his distant son, Percy. At one point, they get their hands on an old burst catering truck, which they repair and start selling the Cuban kitchen. This film has a lot of heart, and if you like a good story of return, you will love it To cook. In addition, it will make you hungry.

Paddington 2 (2017)
I looked Paddington 2 Because Nicolas Cage recommended it. Let me explain. In the film The unbearable weight of massive talentsCage (playing himself) is informed by his drug friend that Paddington 2 is his favorite film, and that made him want to be a better man. Having looked Paddington 2I agree on the two accounts.
In this popular suite, Paddington is a polished British bear who lives in London with the Brown family. The world of this film is soft and soft, but never saccharin. But the stakes are there, just like the conflict.
Hugh Grant plays a villain who is a disguise master, trying to get hold of a rare pop-up book. Paddington wants to buy the same book as a gift for the 100th anniversary of his aunt. When the pop-up book is stolen and Paddington is wrongly accused, the sweet and well-raised bear is found in prison.
Paddington 2 is a perfect film. It is enchanting and sincere in a way that feels anchored, despite the premise centered on a CGI bear. If you want to hug by a movie, watch Paddington 2.
