Former vice-president Kamala Harris called the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times in his new book, “107 Days”, on their refusal to support a presidential candidate in 2024.
“The Los Angeles Times, my newspaper of the hometown, published its electoral amendments,” she wrote, recalling the article of October 14 published by the newspaper. “The very first line of the article said:” It is not an exaggeration to say that this can be the most substantial election of a generation. “But there was no mention of the most consecutive breed of all.”
The Times, belonging to Patrick Soon-Shiong, refused to approve a presidential candidate and the Washington Post, belonging to Jeff Bezos, followed by the step.
“The pre-capitulation of these powerful billionaires alarmed and discouraged me.

Harris’ new book was published on Tuesday and recounts his historically short presidential campaign which followed the decision of former president Joe Biden to leave the race.
La Times announced at the end of October that the editorial committee would not approve a candidate for the first time since 2008. Consequently, the editor -in -chief of the newspaper, Mariel Garza, resigned from what she alleged was the owner’s decision not to approve Harris.
La Times told Fox News Digital: “A approval from Los Angeles Times is an important decision that can influence a large number of voters. After reflected consideration, the owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, could not approve the vice-president Harris, on the basis of the Biden administration file and its own history. The skills are important!”
The post announced a few days later that the editorial committee would not approve a presidential candidate during the 2024 elections or any future presidential election.
William Lewis, publisher and CEO of the Washington Post, described the decision at the time of “a statement in support of the ability of our readers to decide on this subject, the most consecutive American decisions – for those voting as the next president”.
Before the decision of non-Endossement, the Washington Post qualified Trump “ terrible ” and “the worst president of modern times”

The newspaper only approved the candidates for the Democratic presidential election, except in 1988, when he refused to approve the Democrat Michael Dukakis.
The Washington Post did not immediately return a request for comments.
USA Today and Minnesota Star Tribune also refused to approve a presidential candidate in the 2024 elections.
Harris cited the reaction of the former editor-in-chief of Washington Post, Marty Baron, to the non-Endossement of the occasion in his book, “This is Lowardice, a moment of darkness that will leave democracy as a victim. Donald Trump will celebrate it as an invitation to further intimidate the owner of the post, Jeff Bezos (and other media owners). From Spinoustsness in an institution famous for courage. “

“But if I was the newspaper, I would be a little embarrassed that he fell to me, the columnist for humor, to make our presidential approval. I will save you the suspense: I approve Kamala Harris for the president, because I like the elections and I want to continue to have them,” Petri wrote at the time.
