Issues Embarrassing Correction After DHS Drops Actual Facts – RedState

NBC News has published an embarrassing correction, although terribly inadequate, on a story in which they claimed ice agents in Massachusetts essentially used the five -year -old autistic girl of an illegal immigrant to attract her from her house.

The point of sale has published the story based on video and the declarations provided by the mother. The journalist involved and his publishers seemed to be lacking in curiosity necessary to contact the officials of the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) for their version of events before hitting Publish.

Like the editor -in -chief of Redstate, Bob Hoge, reported it on Tuesday, the story at first glance seemed horrible. The initial story said that the agents “held a 5 -year -old autistic girl outside her Massachusetts house to put her father to put herself to the authorities last week”.

He continues to transmit a disturbing tone because NBC suggests that the girl was “surrounded” and “surrounded” with “several male agents of the application of laws”.

“Oh no! It’s horrible, despicable, inhuman. These ignoble ice agents do not try to apply immigration law; they try to terrorize Americans,” writes Hoge. “This would be the case – if the story was true.”

Alas, the whole premise was zero by the spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Security, Tricia McLaughlin, who reported that the father had in fact abandoned the girl in the car and the ice agents informed the police to save her from this abandonment.

With the story completely contradicted, NBC issued its “correction”.

Thank you for the correction, NBC. We had to. But here you have a blatant example of media biases 101 and why the inherited points of sale have absolutely no problem carrying out stories before having all the facts.

For what? Because the original story had at least 2 million views when McLaughlin published a screenshot. The corrected version, which NBC News has published in response after deleting the original (which will help delete its scope), has just over 35,000 views so far.

What is worse is that an addendum of a sentence in history does not do justice to the extent to which the point of sale has rewritten history in several important areas. Take a look at the original in the Wayback machine.

The entire premise of the first paragraph is modified by “agents held a 5 -year -old autistic girl outside her home in Massachusetts to put her father to put herself to the authorities” to “a 5 -year -old girl, whose mother is autistic, while the agents try to arrest her father”.

They did not even confirm that the girl was autistic. Only spoke of the mother. But in the original, they reported it as a fact. It gets worse from there.

Perhaps a concession at a certain level that the mother might not have been honest with her assessment of what happened, the newly printed version changes one of her quotes.

The mother told NBC that her husband “had managed to return to the parking lot of my house, but they caught” their daughter.

The new version indicates that the mother said that her husband “had managed to return to the parking lot of my house”, but added that her daughter “accordingly was with the agents”.

We have gone from the big and bad ice agents “caught” a toddler in Whoopsia, the father accidentally left him behind as he tried to overtake the authorities.

So no, ice agents did not use the poor girl to “bait” or “attract” or “cashew” the man from her home. They did not “grasp” it to do it. In fact, McLaughlin’s declaration, which NBC never bothered to obtain before printing its first version, clearly indicates who is the villain.

The alleged illegal, identified as Edward Hip Mejia, according to McLaughlin, “ignored the emergency lights of the police to stop and return home”.

“He fled the car, gave police officers the double major and passed inside his house. He abandoned his 5-year-old daughter in the car,” she continued. “The police helped save the child and called local police to report abandonment.”

It is a corner hell to leave your story aside.

Regardless, millions of ruby ​​on the left saw the original and have moved away by making believe that the ice is poorly confirmed. Only thousands saw that they had been lied.
