Secretary Hegseth Eliminates One of the Root Causes of ‘Woke’ in the Armed Forces – RedState
The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, dissolved a 75 -year -old defense advisory committee which, although problematic for most of his existence, transferred to a black hole in radical feminism. In a service note, HegSeth led the “formal deactivation” of the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in Services.
“After a more in-depth examination, I determined that the reintegration of the Defense Advisory Committee for Women in Services (Dacowits) should not continue,” Hegseth wrote in the Memo, addressed to the Defense Subsecretaire for staff and preparation and the director of administration and management. “The head of the ministry’s advisory committee will end the Dacowits in accordance with the requirements of the requirements [the Federal Advisory Committee Act]. In addition, the sponsor of Dacowits will take the appropriate measures to realign the resources associated with dacowits, such as staff reallocation, conclusion of contracts and archiving of Dacowits files. “”

The Dacowits was instituted in 1951 under the Undersecretary to Defense George C. Marshall “to provide advice and recommendations on questions and policies relating to recruitment, retention, employment, integration, well-being and treatment of women in the American armed forces”.
Over time, the committee’s objective has made it possible to ensure that women had the opportunity to serve women in the forces and submarines of special operations, and to worry about the way the military women were represented in media and breastfeeding policy. In short, this has ceased to be a way to advise leadership on how to facilitate the path of women in the armed forces in a small special Pleurnichard and mouth interest group that tried to make the armed forces meet the needs of women.

This is not the first rodeo with the dissolution of Dacowits. President George W. Bush briefly tried to close this organization in 2002, but, like many of his efforts, he never followed the plan. In 2021, in a rare moment of mission development by the Pentagon general officers, Dacowits was closed but quickly restored by the Secretary of Defense Lloyd “Awol” Austin.
Everyone is invited to contribute to the extent that they can, but the standards must be high and rigid. Dacowits assured that these standards were flexible, creating maximum promotional opportunities for women. The first woman to graduate from Ranger School spent almost eight months training and being attenuated through a 61 -day course. The only purpose of this exercise was to achieve a “first”. The army did not need a ranger woman; Feminists needed a scalp to take their fight for equity and against patriarchy and toxic masculinity.
Women are no longer new in the army and should not be treated as such. The army does not exist to create opportunities for women to become general officers, which is the approach adopted by Dacowits. Secretary Hegseth is right to say that our soldiers must question people to kill people and break things.
Few is more difficult than returning a failing organization, but complacent and satisfied. This is the challenge that the Secretary of Defense faces Pete Hegseth.
