Arizona’s Marte says fan reduced him to tears after saying he had texted player’s late mother | Arizona Diamondbacks

The Ketel Marte of Arizona Diamondbacks gave details on the comments that reduced it to tears in a match earlier this week.
A 22 -year -old fan received an indefinite ban from each MLB stadium after commenting on the late mother of the second base player in a diamondback match at the Chicago White Sox. Marte’s mother, Elpidia Valdez, died in a car accident in the Dominican Republic in 2017.
Marte initially chose not to talk about the comments, but Friday, he gave details to the journalist in Spanish Yancen Pujols.
“A fan was in the canoe shouting things on my mother,” he said. “He was like,” last night, I sent a message to your mother. “”
Marte said he used to be mocked by fans, but had never been heckled on his mother. He said that what made him more painful for him is that the Diamondbacks were in Chicago to play cubs when he died.
“We have to do something for fans; they go too far,” he said. “They always cry out for me, but not on my mother. Everyone knows that my mother died in an accident. And nothing. We pray for him, for the guy who shouted, and for his family, you know? May God protect him. May God protect him and clean his mother.
ESPN reported that the fan had expressed remorse for the comments.
Marte also expressed his thanks to the Director of Diamondbacks, Torey Luvollo, who comforted his second base player on the field.
“My manager had my back,” said Marte. “They expelled the fan. I don’t think it will be allowed to return to the parks.”
Arizona fans kept signs and wore T-shirts in Harte in Marte during Friday’s home match. After the match, he said he appreciated the gestures.
“I felt good, always receiving this type of fans’ support here, it really made me feel very good,” he said.
