On Loathsome Rhetoric, One Democrat Senator Opts Out

Remember when Democrats and Republicans often differ on issues, but most of them still get along? Some of us, the old baby boomers, remember days when a frequent guest for a glass at the White House of Reagan Post-22 H was the “tip” Democrat O’Neil.
At least it was like that, before each democrat, depending on or not, begins to shout that anyone on the right of Vladimir Lenin was a Nazi, a fascist or whatever the left version of “Dody-Head” one day. A Democrat, however, a senator, no less, withdrew from everything. It would be Senator John Fetterman (D-P-PA).
Senator John Fetterman, D-P., Said that he would not be “this guy” labeling the “Nazi or fascist” opponents, while excluding a change of party during “Sunday Morning Futures” of this week.
“I’m not going to change. I’m just going to be an independent voice in the Democratic Party. I’m not going to be afraid of people,” he told Maria Bartiromo de Fox News.
“And if there are groups that attack a democrat, the last in Pennsylvania, then that is part of the problem of our party. And if you want a democrat who will call Nazis or fascists or all these kinds of things, well, I will not be this guy … I believe the truth, whether the republican or democratic voice.”
It is … is actually rational and sensible. We could disagree with Senator Fetterman on a variety of problems, but man keeps a uniform tension, even on the stormy questions of the day, and has made a clear declaration: he will not be part.

We may remember that during his finally successful campaign of the Senate in 2022, there was serious doubts about the ability of John Fetterman to carry out the office. He had undergone a stroke and showed certain signs and symptoms that were disturbing. He now seems to have recovered and, on the Senate soil, has in fact exchanged his athletic shorts and his usual sweatshirt for an appropriate costume and tie. And, it is true, he avoided the discourse of incitement which seems to have infected many of his colleagues. He can oppose efforts, but he does not call anyone Nazi.
It’s not nothing.
Senator Fetterman was also a fervent supporter of our ally of the Middle East Israel, at once on an opportunity to drag on “Palestinian” demonstrators passing in front of them by waving a tiny Israeli flag, with a mocking smile on his cup. It is a blow that we can respect. Speaking on Sunday with Maria Bartiromo, the senator said about the idea of a Palestinian state:
“When you have human beings detained underground, tortured and hungry, spending two years … It’s a reward for Hamas. It will be their story. They will claim that this is why we have made 10/7 [2023]Who was born to our nation, and I can never give them that, “he said.
The Democratic Party as a whole seems to be turning, turning, turning into the toilet bowl in history. But John Fetterman was one of the surprises in the recent history of the Democratic Party. If the party wishes to maintain relevance, it is better to listen to John Fetterman than from Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, or one of the foaming “Democratic Socialists” and “Bernie Bros” in and out of government. I would always vote against him, if I had the opportunity, but he is more worthy of respect than the vast majority of his party.
