Rory McILroy refused to play the Ryder Cup after the American crowd launched repeated abusive insults in his direction.
The Northern Irishman was queuing for a putt during his victory for the four Saturday afternoon of Shane Lowry over Justin Thomas and Cameron Young when the tensions were boiled.
