Turkey, which sponsored pro-Hamas “flutillas” for more than a decade, saved a ship with the Greta Thunberg flotilla on Monday after a leak in its machine room which made it fall and issue a distress signal.

The time of Israel reported:

Turkey helps to evacuate activists aboard a flotilla to Gaza after one of the ships fades and began to face water, the Turkish news agency, Anadolu, the report.

According to Anadolu, the ship was located in international waters between Crete, Cyprus and Egypt when it launched a distress call early this morning.

Semih Fener, the captain of one of the ships sent to help, told Anadolu that the incident was due to a technical dysfunction, not to a shipwreck.

An Instagram publication of the group has documented the quasi-desster:

Thunberg, who made his name as an activist against climate change, did not explain why his flotilla is fed by traditional fossil fuels and not renewable energy sources, such as wind veils.

President Barack Obama forced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to apologize to Turkey for a melee who followed in 2010 when Israeli commanders rose aboard another flotilla – an army sponsor.

The Turkish government openly supports Hamas and rejects the blockade that Israel and Egypt imposed on the Gaza Strip since Hamas took over in a coup in 2007 and sought to import weapons.

Earlier this year, Thunberg participated in another flotilla that tried to reach Gaza managed by Hamas and was intercepted. She was arrested and expelled. She then said that she was “kidnapped” by Israel.
