Tennessee Titans' Kevin Winston Jr. tabbed as DROY candidate

The Tennessee titans were heavy on the offensive side of the ball during the NFL 2025 draft, adding several potential game leaders to the list. This does not mean that they ignored defense. They used two premium choices on this side of the ball and added players who can potentially have an impact in Femi Oladejo and Kevin Winston Jr.

Oladejo and Winston have a chance to compete for the playing time. However, Winston was limited because of his medical problems as he continues to rehabilitate his knee after having undergone an LCA injury in early 2024. This does not prevent Jacob Infante from appointing Winston his choice as a defensive candidate of the defensive year of the Titans.

Titans du Tennessee: Kevin Winston Jr.

The Titans of Tennessee only took one defender during the first five rounds of the NFL 2025 draft. Almost by default, Kevin Winston Jr. seems to be their best candidate for the defensive recruit of the year.

As a third round security, his chances of winning Droe are not incredibly high. That said, it is a strong defensive back with a high football IQ. If he gets the right opportunity, he could surprise some people.

His selection of Winston seems to be by default, after having underlying the selection of Oladejo, in the second round of the Titans. There is no doubt that Winston could have an impact in 2025 if it is in good health. There is a complete security prospect with the features necessary to succeed in the defense, but his biggest question will be his availability when he returned to injury.

While Winston could have an impact, Oldjo has a simpler path towards playing time at the start of the season. Oladejo can be inexperienced and raw on the edge, but it brings solid athletics and a contagious attitude towards the table, and comes with a huge advantage. The Tennessee needing increased production of the position, Oladejo could have an opportunity from the start to impress.

If it is likely that the two players will see a significant playing time, the Titans have also added a veteran during the offseason in their respective positions, which makes the training camp crucial so that the two young players settle.
