Naomi Deberry, a 13-year-old from New Orleans, was named as one of the “Girls of the Year” of Time Magazine magazine for 2025. Deberry, the only American on the list, was recognized for writing a children’s book on organ transplantation inspired by the experience of his father who received a rein transplant.
