Chuck Schumer Uses Juvenile Tactics to Delay Vote on Big, Beautiful Bill – RedState
The leader of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer (D-NY), faces a huge enigma these days: how does it remain relevant when his sworn enemy Donald Trump dominates the news cycle and his party is eaten while living more and more in the extremist wasteland? Chuck must be aware that few people connect to discover what he has to say, because socialists like the representative of NY Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the mayor candidate of the great apples with wild eyes Zohran Mamdani are now hot objects.
Chuck Schumer, to say kindly, is not.
But the senator who haunts from the Congress halls 44 years old Will not simply leave quietly; No, he will continue to drop about his failed progressive vision and the spill of what was a very successful Trump presidency.
In his latest efforts to put road dams in front of Trump’s priorities, he was going to force the Senate clerk to read all the text of the major bill and lose around 12 to 15 hours which can never be recovered:

Although the strategy is not particularly common, it was done before, and in all honesty, the Republicans have also used tactics in the past:
The maneuver, which was described by a person granted to anonymity to describe the private plans, is supposed to slow down the adoption of the Senate of the Megabill and give Democrats more time to raise awareness of the provisions inside. Reading the bill by the clerks is provided under the rules of the Senate but is almost always removed by unanimous consent.
Senate aid estimates that reading the 940 -page bill could take around 15 hours. When Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) Forced the reading of the US 628-page American rescue law in 2021, it took 10 hours and 44 minutes. (Johnson said he had bought a case of wine afterwards.)

Prepare for a voting-a-rama:
The question is whether the leaders of the GOP of the Senate will force the clerks to read the bill until Saturday evening and early on Sunday morning to accomplish the time and energy task or if the staff will have a little time before the Senate launched into a series of votes of several hours known as the voting-a-rama name.
The Senate Republicans provided that Schumer could force a reading of the bill as an act of protest.
Schumer’s action comes as the Senate Republicans are jostling to adopt the President Trump Tax and Expenditure Bill by the President’s Deadline of July 4.
Looking at the manufacture of sausages is not pretty, and the apparently endless negotiations on this mammoth bill were long and tortuous. And although the legislation is far from perfect, it devotes a certain number of priorities from Trump in law and would have deep implications on the future of this country.
Voters had a say. Now is the time to honor them, no matter what Chuck Schumer thinks.
