The Rams of Los Angeles had the chance to withdraw a rival from the division and to go to the only possession of first place on Thursday evening, but instead, they came empty after having made several errors during the late stages of their 26-23 defeat in overtime against the 49ers of San Francisco.

The Rams, which were favored by 8.5 points, became an upset victim because they could not get out of their own path in the fourth quarter. Although Matthew Stafford launched 389 yards and three affected, it was not enough to overcome the costly errors of the RAMs.

Let’s cover the three largest errors that the rams made from the fourth quarter and overtime.

Rams have abandoned another blocked kick

The Rams dragged 20-7 in the third quarter, but thanks to Stafford, they were able to quickly erase this deficit. The Rams quarter-rear launched a pass from Puka Nacua in the third quarter to reduce the advance to 20-14. In the fourth quarter, it seemed that the Rams were going to take an advance of 21-20 after Kyren Wililams took a pass of 8 yards, but that did not happen, because the additional point of Joshua Karty was blocked.

The 49ers block maintained the score for 20 with 10:39 to play in the match. The Rams Field Offs team has had a serious protection problem this year. This additional point attempt has marked the third time since week 3 that Karty was blocked and the painful part is that the three blocks arrived in the fourth quarter.

Karty also missed a basket of 53 yards in the match, so the special teams cost the RAMs a total of four points.

FUMP OF KYREN Williams in the fourth quarter

With only 2:52 to play and the rams dragging 23-20, Los Angeles took possession at his own 35 yards line with a chance to link or win the match.

Matthew Stafford quickly led the rams to the score position on a journey where he finished two passes for 29 yards. After a 20 yarn race by Kyren Williams, the Rams quickly found themselves on the verge of scoring a possible touch of green light with a first goal on the line of 3 yards of San Francisco. However, they ended up getting zero points on the disc because Williams escaped the ball at the line of 1 yards.

The fumble was forced by the recruit of the 49ers Alfred Collins who launched a perfect punch on football to unleash it. If Williams had marked a touchdown, it would have put the RAMs 27-23 with only 1:05 to play, but instead, the 49ers took possession in their own line of 1 meter.

The Rams obtained a three and an outing on the journey of the 49ers which followed and Stafford then quickly led his team to the range of goals to force overtime after Karty nailed a kick of 48 yards.

Wandering kick -off to start overtime

Karty failed to celebrate her goal on the field for a very long time, because, during the first game in overtime, he made a brutal error. When Karty starts, he usually strikes a Knuckleball and that worked well all night until the match reached overtime. During the additional session, Karty was penalized because her kick -off did not go to the landing area. The penalty installed the 49ers with the ball at their 40 yards line.

From there, the 49ers did not have to drive very far to enter the range of goals on the ground. Mac Jones ended up taking 37 yards to establish the 41 yards of Eddy Pinero who turned out to be the winning points.

Sean Mcvay admits that his “poor” call cost his team the game

Under this year’s extension rules, the two teams are guaranteed by possession, so the 49ers had to launch the Rams after the Piniero basket. The Rams took over to their own line of 33 yards and Stafford immediately led them to 56 yards to the line of 11 yards from San Francisco, where they finally faced a fourth and 1.

At that time, the Rams coach Sean Mcvay had two options: he could kick the field and attach the match where he could go for the first. The usually conservative coach decided to go and this decision was returned against him after calling a race in the middle.

Williams was never lucky.

After the match, Mcvay was asked about the game call and he was clearly frustrated by himself.

“The selection of the part was very mediocre,” said Mcvay. “I’m sick not because I put our players in a crappy place and I have to live with that.”

Stafford was on fire in the fourth quarter and extension, launching a total of 194 yards. The RAMs experienced a six -game trip to overtime and the first five games were all passes. With Stafford who played so well, it would probably have been logical to put the ball in his hands, but Mcvay raised Williams in the middle.
